All Solar GoGreenAmerica.us Waste of Time - They want to sell you a solar water heater Internet |

Beware of this company. My wife signed us up for a "Free" energy audit. The guy showed up, spent about 5-10 minutes looking around our attic and then came down and sat at our dining room table to "crunch some numbers" that could save us money. When he was done, we went and sat at the table with him where he proceeded to talk about the problem with America is that we use too much energy. We're only 5% of the worlds population and we use 25% of all energy, blah blah blah. After 10 minutes of calmly listening to him tell me how wasteful we were, I finally asked him to get to the point, and that I don't want to hear his take on global energy use anymore, I wanted to know what I could do to save money on my energy use. When the other shoe finally dropped with this guy, it turns out he wants to sell us a solar water heater for around $4,500 and some "aluminum looking" insulation stuff for our attic at a cost of around $10,000. He tried to do the hard sell with us... basically trying to get us to buy on the spot. In the end, it was a waste of 90 minutes for both my wife and I. Avoid this company unless you're looking to buy a solar water heater or "aluminum looking" attic insulation without getting any other bidders. One thing I thought was interesting about this company is that they didn't have business cards and they didn't have their phone number printed on their "estimate sheet". I also could not find a physical address for the company on any of their literature. Very strange considering this guy was touting a Better Business Bureau (BBB) letter in his book of sales propaganda. One last thing, to be fair to the company and their saleperson. He did inform me that in the state of Florida, it is illegal for any Homeowners Association or Community Association to stop a homeowner from placing Solar Panels (to produce electricity) on the roofs of their homes. We have been wanting to do this, but had thought that since no one else in our community was doing it, that it must not be allowed by the Association. That was really good to learn and I thank him for that. Everything else though seemed very scam-ish. |
