ZaagTech Scam! Selling defective Multi-Touch screen from China. No refund. Do not buy from this company! Internet

This ripoff report is to provide some valuable information to help innocent buyers understand the scam behind Zaagtech. It's a painful experience to me because I lost my hard earned money, missed the deadline of an important project and undergone tens of hours frustration just to find it's a complete scam. It started from one day a sales letter from Zaagtech mysteriously hit my relatively new email box trying to sell me their cheap touch screens. I have never posted the email address on any web before. I'm still wondering how they got my contact information in the first place. I did not respond in the beginning. Zaagtech kept sending me more emails, posting Youtube videos showing their new products and low price quote. The context of their email and the way they wrote the email were a bit of strange to me. It seemed that they knew the nature of my personal business and roughly how much volume I can buy per month, which is a little fishy to me. However, in the end, I was attracted by its lower price quote and decided to have a try after several email exchanges with them. They were very responsive in replying emails so I made a decision to use their product in the next new project. Then the nightmare started. After several delays in their lead time and shipping, I got the package and began unboxing. The product looks low quality, like a handmade product. Screws are easily broken. Sharp corners of the frame can hurt your fingers. The touch frame is unstable even if you have tightened all the screws. The connectors are loose. When I was assembling the frames, one of the connector got split off. I had to manually solder it by myself. If you are not a tech savy guy on soldering stuff, you need to be extremely careful in the assembling process so that the connectors don't get broken. The touch frame doesn't come with a glass. You have to do your homework to find a local supplier. I spent a whole week just to get the setup ready. The touch screen works well with some of my PCs, but it has some random issues with my new Dell Latitude laptop. I contacted Zaagtechs support. But they said it's not their problem and they cannot reproduce my issue. Their email response became very slow after you made the purchase. I have to write two or three emails just to get their response once. The reply is like from a previous template and did not help at all. After trying to solve the problem many times in vain, I gave up and switched to use another computer. It worked but only for four weeks. Then the touch frame died completely. I contacted Zaagtech again. But they simply ignored my email. I asked for a return and refund. They never replied to me again. I found their phone number 1-408-634-9224 and called it for several times. No one ever picked up the phone. It's a completely shady business. It seems that Zaagtech is located in some mysterious place in China. They posted some English web pages, Youtube videos and a US phone number just to scam your money out of your pocket. So you want to sue them? You better find where they are. A lesson hard learned. Hope you don't have the same bad experience as mine.

hello User561379,

i am the sales manger from ZaagTech, i am posting comments here in replying your article above,

1. if we ever can reach you by email, it means everyone on the internet can. it is google or yahoo that you should blame to. you were thinking too much, as the matter of factors, we were only sending email to some one who might feel interested in our solution or touch technology. thats all.

we dont know nothing about your company, not to mention your monthly volume. moreover, there is no any fishy strategy or customize email letters for you, actually we are sending the same letters to everyone, who is involved and interested in touch technology market.

2. if you would allow, please simply let us know what size of overlay that you purchased from us? was it dual, 6 or 10 touch solution? which company and where you are from? i am sure we can definitely send you a replacement unit or either refund you, if the status of your purchased frame is like what you described above.

and you said my sales did not reply your email after you made a purchase, and my support team were perfunctory to your enquirers? in this regard, i request you to send me the record of your emails to me. i will take a deep look into this matter for sure,

3. if you ever received the shipment from us successfully, you should have our company address. at least it should not sounds like any "mysterious place in China" to you. and i am sure you will find the Skype address of our sales person in every single email that you received from us, with adding their Skype successfully, you should able to make a call to their personal cell directly.

4. you can reach me via [email protected], and i will be awaiting to hear from you soon.

Regards,

Fan

Nov. 17, 2011:

I have been working with ZaaTech as a supplier of multitouch frames and overlays for a month at this point and am quite pleased. The product performs as advertised within reason. There are limitations to a frame based MT solution which are unavoidable, such as clustered touch events resulting in occlusion and dodge touch events.

I will continue to buy from zaagTech -- it is possible that the original poster suffered from this companies growing pains.
