I purchased the Gold Coverage from Wynn's Extended Care for my 2005 Chrysler Pacifica. I read through the entire document and found that it covered a lot of big ticket items and didn't really have any ridiculous demands, so I paid the extra $2,000 for it. The end of March I took my vehicle into the shop to have the control arms replaced on my vehicle, and this was covered under warranty. Then my car wouldn't start due to a short somewhere in the wiring harness. My vehicle was sent to the dealership for an evaluation and 2nd opinion, and both the repair shop and the dealership agreed that a new wiring harness was the only way to fix the issue. They informed Wynn's Extended Care, but Wynn's told them that they would have to demonstrate the failure to one of their inspectors in order for them to cover the wiring harness. The repair shop spend another week and a half trying to duplicate the problem, but when it comes to electrical that's not always easy to do. Wynn's refused to pay for the claim unless they could demonstrate the failure to one of their inspectors, though. We went round and round with this, and in the end, I had to take out a loan just to pay the repair shop since a wiring harness costs around $1200. And that's not including the labor. Nowhere in the fine print of my warranty contract does it say anything about having to demonstrate the failure for the part to be covered. They didn't hesitate on the claim for the control arms, so why are they making us jump through hoops for the more expensive parts? Obviously, they will do or say whatever they want to get out of paying for and expensive repair, even though the contract clearly states that this is a covered part, and I had 2 totally different repair facilities evaluate and state the same solution to them. I will never buy another Extended Warranty, and I will spread the word to anyone I know that is purchasing a vehicle that this company is nothing more than a scam! |
