I am so glad that I followed my gut on this one. My husband was laid off, so we both have been on major job hunts. We both applied for this company, but did not know because they had two different names each time we went in for interview. My husband interviewed first about two weeks ago. He was brought in and had his interview. They sent him an email and said they were not interested. After his interview he told me the company did claims for auto glass repair. I then remembered that these people came to my home when we first moved here from Ohio to give us their speel. No biggie, everyone needs to make a living. The week later, I applied for a job and realized when I was almost there that it was the same building. I just figured it was a hiring company that hired for different companies so I thought nothing of it. The job that I was being interviewed for was a management position in their company. When I called to set up the interview, I asked how much the job paid she told me 30-40 thousand a year. They never really told me much about the job, just that I would be hiring, firing, setting up presentations and heading meetings. They also told me that I would be taking care of employees scheduling and so on and so forth. Everything a manager position entitles. When I sat down, I noticed everyone else around me were dressed amazing, and they all seemed like they were told the same thing. They probably felt they all were going for a managers position. When the interviewed ended, after dancing around my questions, he wanted me back the next morning for a second interview. I was excited. So I went home, made sure I stopped at walmart and spent money on some cloths because I have been a stay at home mom for so long, I have no job interview cloths besides one outfit, and I got all ready for my second interview. So Friday morning comes along and I noticed that everyone was there at t he same time. We all come to find out that we were going to go out on the job with "Our top manager field rep" so we can see a little part of what we will be doing. We were told to get in our cars, and the person we were assigned to would take us to a client of theirs. I was on empty, but I had no choice but to follow. I still was hoping it was going to be a management position and we were going to a well established company that we already had ties with. About 35 minutes of driving, we stopped at a tire place. Me and the girl walked for about a mile stopping at every business along the road and solicited them, even at offices that said no soliciting. When we got back to the cars, she came in my car and she told me that I was being hired on as a manager in training and that I would have to start out as a field tech, then by 9 months, I would be a manager in my own office. I really wanted to just drive away, but I stuck it out. After all I have two boys and we are stuck right now because of a layoff. It was odd that she made the comment "I get asked if it is a pyramid sceem , and I tell him if a pyramid sceem is when people lower down make less money than management, then I guess Pizza Hut is a pyramid sceem. That stuck in my head like crazy. She then goes to tell me that she liked me and was going to send me back to the office for the third and final interview. THEN is when my eyes were opened. I finally get in to talk to the same guy that I have been talking too. I finally asked again about pay, about gas for when I drive from point A to Point B and job duties. He starts off by saying pay would be $50 per replacement and $25 per fix of windshields. I thought, okay, I could deal with this because we need the money. So then I asked, well, is there an hourly pay? He said no, it goes by how many windshields you can get people to get fixed. Okay, I though, this blows. Then he goes and if you do not meet it, you will get 200 a week just for showing up on time and being here every day. So I did some quick math in my head and realized I would only be paid $5 dollars an hour. That is less than min. wage. It was almost like he was being gracious for giving me that much. Okay, so let me get this straight. I am going to leave my children 40 hours a week for 200 bucks a week? I was hired for the position and was told to be there by 8 this morning. I came home and talked to my husband and there were so many questions I didn't ask. Like when I become a so called manager, will I get paid a wage? so on and so forth. I called and I think he realized that I was catching on to their crap. I decided on Friday night that I was not going to take this job because I was not about to go there and get screwed. I would have had to buy cloths, and my gas was something that I could not afford to use driving around Orlando. I am so glad I decided NOT to take this job.

I was told the exact same thing yesterday and I was going to go back this morning for part two. I absolutely have no interest in this kind of sales. I also don't appreciate being mislead. Thank you for this post. You saved me time and gas.
