In Nov. 2010 I needed a new circuit breaker box in my house and Mister Quik Company submitted a financial form to Wells Fargo and they accepted and sent me a credit card also. Several months later I got some charges to my credit card account I hadn't made and they issued me a new card and made me send a letter to an address in Iowa challenging the false charges. They kept saying they never received the letter so I sent another and still they never received it. I finally faxed it to them from a Kinkos and it was still several days before they acknowledged getting it. That doesn't make any sense since a fax goes straight to them. I eventually got a letter taking off the charges. They then sent me another letter later saying they were putting a charge of $50 back on my account because they couldn't prove I hadn't made it. The documentation they sent me I couldn't make out the important stuff because the ink was faded and I had to get the Merchant (Autozone) to send it to me. It was a $50 gift certificate someone in one state sent to someone in another. Someone had my name and address and telephone # and 3 digit number on the back of the card. They used a made of e-mail address that wasn't mine but had a beginning that sounded like it might be mine. Later they sent me another letter adding another charge for a gift certificate from someone from one state to another for $50 from a place called Sheetz Inc. Same situation. They would not take my word I didn't make these charges. I was angry and closed my account. However 3 weeks later when I got my final bill there were more false charges to the new card and they were made after the new credit card was closed. Wells Fargo said the charges just hadn't caught up to my account whatever that means and I could go through the whole routine of challenging them again if I liked. They have a security problem at Wells Fargo and it doesn't help that they took forever receiving anything I would send to them. Also I never could figure out how to monitor my account activity on the card online but was only able to make payments. I could have caught these false charges earlier if they let me monitor my account on line. Wells Fargo has a poor security problem and poor customer service and please be careful when getting a credit card from this company. |
