Watch Brokers . Com www.we buy watches . com YOU WILL NOT GET PAID! Atlanta, Georgia |
28th of Dec, 2011 by User362206 |
In August 2011 I contacted WatchBrokers.com to sell a Baum et Mercier men's Classima watch. I dealt with Albert G. who set up the Fed Ex shipment from me to them. Once he received the watch my account was transferred to my representative, Eric Toso, who carried out the appraisal and subsequent sale of my watch. I received an offer of $1,200 in early October 2011 and on 10/17/11 I authorized the sale via email. Mr. Toso advised me that the check would be issued within 25-45 business days; no later than 12/31/11. I contacted him several times regarding payment and he never responded via email, only voicemail. Each voicemail, which I saved thankfully, states that 25-45 business days is the standard for WatchBrokers.com and if I didn't have a check by 12/31/11 to contact him and he'd get it sent out for me. Today, 12/29/11 I contacted Mr. Toso and WatchBrokers.com and received a written response from Brandy in Accounts Payable saying that they had 6 months to pay me - and basically that I should deal with it. When Eric called me a few minutes later he advised that there was a change in the partnership and subsequently the business model was being changed. Eric Toso stated that rather than go out of business and not pay anyone, that they are delaying payment 3 months. I told him that this sounded fishy and that I wasn't concerned about their monetary issues - that I had correspondence that stated 12/31/11 and that's what I wanted. I told Mr. Toso that I would be contacting the BBB and an attorney. He seemed unphased and said that I will not get my check if they go out of business - in a threatening tone as if to tell me not to make trouble. If you want to sell your watch - take it to a PERSON in a store. Do not deal with WatchBrokers.com or you're only setting yourself up for a scam. I find it ironic that their slogan is "Luxury Watches Without the Retail Guilt". Everyone who works there should be filled with guilt for taking money out of innocent people's hands and the mouth's of their children. |
