Waffle House Unfair mistreatment of good employees Grovetown, Georgia |
31st of Mar, 2011 by User852180 |
I worked at this Waffle House for 6 months and quit due to a dispute with my unit manager. Six months later, the district manager brought me back on, and I worked there for an additional year and a half. I loved my job with all my heart. However, as time progressed I begin to notice things that didn't set right. A lot of us were working double shifts because they didn't have enough employees to cover the shifts, or our schedules were being changed on a daily basis without anybody being notified about the changes until the day we were suppose to come in. I myself, worked my butt off trying to move up from a Grill 1st Class to a Master Grill Operator, and proved I could handle it, only to be given the run around by Jimmy Harbin and Rhonda Flanders. This kept going the entire time. I was even scheduled to work three double shifts back to back and then my regular week with no break in between at one point. The whole time the only raise I received was a fifty cent raise bringing me up to $7.50 an hour for all my hard work and dedication to the company. To top all of this off, they expected that everybody work double shifts on Christmas of this past year. When I told them all I could work was one shift, they got mad at me, and proceeded to keep me over by 2 hours. I was fuming when I got home. They call me on my days off to come in for somebody who got fired or quit, and when I told them I had made plans, they told me that it wasn't all about me, and then get mad and hang up in my face! That's not good business. I finally got fed up about a month ago and quit due to the whole situation causing me to have blackout spells and bursts of anger due to the overwhelming stress I was getting from this job. So much unfair acts occur on a day to day basis up there I cannot even put it all in words. So glad I am no longer working there. I just feel bad for my friends who still do. |

I understand exactly where you're coming from. I run a blog called "A Day In The Life Of A Waffle House Cook" and I'm actually starting to look for current or previous employees of Waffle House that would like to share their stories. If you are interested, just let me know, I would be glad to share your story (they just ran me around as well, in a very bad way). |
