Vint Mark Lee Van Dinter and associates Scam, Illegal Impersonation, Fraud, Harassment Temecula, California |
26th of Oct, 2011 by User370784 |
On 10/27/2011, Mr. Chad Lee, a debt collector from Van Dinter & Associates in Temecula, CA, called me repeatedly, illegaly claiming to be an insurance agent. Mr. Lee never disclosed that he was a debt collector and impersonated an insurance agent, with a false claim number, to get me to speak with him. Mr. Lee falsely represented himself and used harsh and threatening language when I did not offer to pay him for a bogus debt. Van Dinter & Associates has been reported to the secretary of state, the better business bureau, the Federal Trade Commission and the association of credit and collection professionals. Please spread the word and refuse to do any business with this company so this type of illegal harassment will stop. If you're a prospective client, looking to hire a debt collection firm, I would suggest reading this scam report as a warning. If you receive a call from 877-643-4549, do not answer.

I am sure Mark Van Dinter is half lying (if that's his real name) because one of his goons called an associate of mine this past month with threats of doing a "complete financial investigation" of is company complete with interviews of all people his company owes mony to and a tax assessment of assets. This is a collection tactic. The thug voice said he believes in "the fair right to know" etc. VanDinter's terrorist representative did not leave any identifying information about the so-called debt which would lead a reasonable person to wonder what Van Dinter is doing. Is he legitimate or is he just trying to scare my friend. The harrassing caller used the very brave "private number" caller ID, but he did refer to Van Dinter & Associates with phone number 877-643-4549. If you get a thug call from Van Dinter or one his minions, call your lawyer to deal with them. My friend says his debt is/was in dispute, but disreputable companies like Van Dinter's clients will sell their debt for pennies on the dollar to the likes of Van Dinter. Van Dinter and his ilk than sells the debt when he thinks there is no juice left. Call your lawyer and get back into their face. |

I got a call from one of these THUGS! Just like it is described, I got a call from a mystery "private investigator" thrying to "do me a favor" by letting me resolve the matter before launching a full attack with his COMPLETE FINANCIAL INVESTIGATION. I'm still not sure the debt is legitimate. But I was strong armed for a commitment to pay by one of Van Dinter's Associates. Their approach is equal to bringing a hand gernade to a girl scout protest. I asked APPLIED UNDERWITERS for documentation to support their claim of monies owed after they just reached into our account and tried to take it. I stopped payment on the payment and contacted APPLIED UNDERWRITERS for more information. None was forthcoming. Then I get this call today. The call was very intimidating and extremely demanding. These tactics should be illegal. |

Same type of call from a "California Private Investigator" saying the are going to launch a full out financial investigation on my company, blah, blah, blah! Gave a number for a Kimberly Ex. 2249 at their toll free number. They will need permission or a subpoena to do financial investigations. They can look at Secretary of State for status of the company which they could just ask me what it is. Van Dinter & Associates has been reported to the Secretary of State. This firm is nothing but a debt collecting agency that tries to scare people into paying them? Not sure how becasue they wouldnt even say what it was about. Just report them and or let your attorney deal with them. |

I had the same thing happen. A call from a "private investigator" who claimed to be hired to do a full investigation into our company including the licensing board, tax records, they said they would be looking into our accounts and doing a complete financial investigation etc They gave me a number and name that sounded like a law firm. I called thinking I was speaking to an attorney and was treated very aggressively by someone named Chad lee who claimed to "representing" an insurance company. He intimated that he was an attorney and when I said I was disputing the claim he laughed and assured me that I would lose in court and am liable for the full amount and that they would freeze our business bank accounts and levy the funds we need to pay our employees. He then told me that I should beg, borrow and sell everything I could possibly sell in order to get the money to pay this debt (which we dispute we owe). He said they didn't care if we could pay employees or not. Their money would be taken first. He was nasty, aggressive, condescending and did not reveal that he was a debt collector at any time. He led me to believe he was an attorney and said he was a representative of the insurance company not a debt collector from a different company. They have not followed the law by providing any information in writing. He is nasty and aggressive and we will be filing complaints against them with the FTC as well as the secretary of state, the BBB, association of credit and collection professionals and the attorney general. The insurance company can look for a complaint filed with the state insurance commissioner against them. I hope they will love having the state crawling through their business. These goons are so unprofessional and they use illegal tactics. If you are being harassed by them, be sure to learn all about your rights as they don't follow the rules. Call your attorney and file complaints against them . If you are a prospective client, well all I can say is you can judge a company or person by the company they keep. I would never pay these goons a dime even if I wanted to pay. The lowest scum of the earth. If you are being harassed by them, take legal action and file complaints. It's the best way to stop them. |
