Vie En Forme gym in Montreal advertises a yearly membership rate of $49 for the entire year,, This rate is never actually available, if you call they will tell you that the 49 dollar special is over and then they will propose you a rate closer to 300.00,, They have been advertising the 49 rate for years in news papers like " The Journal De Montrea" and the free newspapers on the metro as well as the "Mirror",, The gym is filthy and their is a good chance that your locker will get broken into or you will be overwhelmed by the terrible smell and poor ventilation. The other gym that uses these bait and switch advertising tactics in Montreal right now is "Fit For Life" up on Saint Laurent Street,, They are constantly advertising a 10.00/ month special on their website but when you phone them they will tell you that it was only for the first 40 people who called in and that the yearly membership is now 340.00/year.. Beware of these gyms, they are out to attract the lower levels of society and have no class with their advertising,, i guess that they correctly assume that the public is stupid, which it usually is..

wow thank you very much, i saw an add in Kijiji right now selling his membership of only 50 dollars for this crap, and because last year i visited the so called gym, and It was so filthy apartment, they were advertising 49$ for year and they asked me to pay about 100 dollars for the subscription fees I shunned that offer.
and now I didn't buy the membership

you are right, the gym Vie en Forme is such bullshit. They were offering a special of 39$/year, and when I called to know more details, and ask if there were any membership fees or else, they simply said no all you have to pay is 39$+tax and thats it, you just have to come before the closing because the offer would end that same night and would not appear again in the newspaper..bullshit i know but since I was downtown, I went there to check how was the place, and the man there was telling me the offer was over at 4pm, and the special is now over but he would talk to the administration to see if they would allowed me the still get the special.. He came back saying ok im gonna give you the special, its 49$ (not the advertise 39$) + fees of 50$ etc.. total came to 150$, which is usually not expensive, but never pay such amount for that crappy gym where you can hardly breathe since it smells so bad. and guess what I saw in the newspaper the next morning, 39$ special..
