I'm still with Verizon because they're the only game in town. I live in Rural America. I'm not too thrilled with Verizon either. When I first signed up online up for a bundle (TV, Phone, Wireless, DSL) the rep quoted my wife $124 a month, which darn good. Plus, they promised I'd get a FREE wireless netbook; all i had to do was pay for shipping (around $40 the rep said). The netbook did not arrive. I got a voucher for $99 good for a Dell notebook. I went to Dell and saw that the cheapest one was for for $295. That meant, I would have to pay an additional $200 plus shipping to get my so called FREE netbook. I tore up the voucher. Then came another horror: First the TV rates went up, claiming we ordered premium channels (which we didn't) and then Verizon charged us for games we didn't download. I told them we were retired people and don't do video games. We cancelled the bundle and went back to just phone and internet. We had to fight for the $500 fine for breaking our contract. We contacted the Better Business Bureau and the fine was waved;l but it took a long time to get any kind of satisfaction Verizon still owes us a wireless netbook. |
