BAIT and SWITCH, FALSE ADVERTISING, PREDATORY BILLING: they are charging me 5 times the agreed upon amount for 2 phones plus the internet: $99 - $10 (for 6 months for switching to FIOS) - $40 for bundling the phone/internet services = $49 (should be the correct billing amount). AND now they are sending us three separate bills each month for the same phone number; and they were taking money from two credit cards. I had to contact one of the credit card companies to stop Verizon from stealing money from that card. The other credit card company I have informed them that we are being overcharged by $50 per month and that is a problem, because if we do not allow Verizon to continue to steal money from that credit card, then we are afaird of getting our phone and internet services cut off.
I have contacted Verizon on 20 different days over the past 5 months..each phone call between 1 to 3 hours long...they keep transfering the call to different departments...Verizon personnel keep promising to fix the problems, that it may take a few days to a couple of weeks... it has been 5 months and no resolution. In fact, instead of 2 bills for same phone, now I have 3 bills for the same phone number.
And recently when I spoke with Verizon: Verizon does not want to honor the discounts that their personnel promised me. And the California Public Utilities Commision (CPUC) told me that the CPUC never helps anyone get discounts that were promised to customers.
Verizon was caught overcharging their cell phone users, too. It was in the news recently.
It is my belief and opinion that: Verizon is intentionally overcharging customers. And promising discounts that it has no intention of fulfilling (as it must know that the CPUC will never force them to give customers the discounts that are promised.)
My suggestion is that people not become customers of Verizon. If you have been abused by Verizon's predatory billing practices, then please contact your local newspaper editors and put your story in your local newspapers and contact your local TV news rooms. |
