| When you hear the company name “Vanguard Integrity Professionalsâ€, what do you think of? It’s most likely on the lines of a company demonstrating they have morals. Let me tell you, this company is anything BUT moral. Their values and integrity are morally corrupt. Ronn Bailey is CEO and founder of Vanguard Integrity Professionals. The firm specializes in protecting mainframes from viruses. If one would Google Ronn Bailey, you will find primarily anything but his role as CEO and founder of Vanguard. In fact, query his name online in the Las Vegas Sun and the results are surprising that there is not one article depicting anything but his passion and the amount of cash he puts into racing cars (oh, here's an article for ya "Tardiness gets Vegas millionaire disqualified - Tuesday, Jan. 11 ..."). And, now I realize how he got to be so rich (from stealing ideas from little guys like myself) and using it for his own profit. It seems Ronn Bailey is more known as a millionaire playboy racing cars on African terrain rather than running an integrity professional mainframe firm. It seems evident that a CEO who’s company name states integrity should be one that he ought to live by. And in the case with me, nothing could be farthest from the truth. Let me tell you a thing or two about Ronn Bailey and our communication from the beginning: On January 26th, 2011, I received a non-scheduled telephone call from Martha Silvasy. She prescreened me for an interview with herself and Ronn Bailey for a position at Vanguard Integrity Professionals in Las Vegas. Me living in South Florida to even consider a position that I would have to relocate to me was almost off my radar, but worth a listen. I therefore spoke with Martha Silvasy for a few moments and she then invited me for a telephone interview with Ronn Bailey the following day. The telephone interview with Ronn Bailey was quite extensive, exhausting and lasted approximately 1 ½ hours. We started off discussing e-learning from the software security aspect as it related to the position. Later, the discussion changed to developing online training for all mainframe subjects and creating several online courses in preparation for the 2011 Las Vegas international consortium. He asked very detailed and specific questions of how I conduct my small business and performs my work. Quickly in the conversation, it was evident that Ronn Bailey did not know the e-learning industry and the “interview†was more of an educational experience for him. Still, I was there walking him through the process and responding frankly since I was interested in the security employment prospect. In retrospect, this meeting and the subsequent in-person meeting was that of information gathering painted as an “interview†to benefit Vanguard in creating an e-learning department which he had no intent to hire me for. He was mainly inviting me to pick my brain to use my knowledge for his benefit. After the phone conversation, Ronn Bailey invited me to Las Vegas to interview in person the subsequent following day. I flew out there and the next day, at 8:00 am, my interview was to start. I didn’t meet with him until 6:00 pm that evening because his workers said he was “tied†up and too busy to meet me. He then instructed his workers to gather as much knowledge from me with paper and pens in hand and interrogate me for information. I didn’t realize this was the case in the beginning, but it easily was apparent and it all came together at the end. There were 3 times I indicated throughout the day (and without lunch) I got up and said I was going to leave and they indicated that he would be there to meet me shortly. They strung my along at his direction. He also indicated to them for me to produce a mock up of an e-learning class from my software and their handout materials to get an idea of what could be done. No, no samples required on this interview. He wanted me to create a class right there and then to use their personal materials. The one guy interviewing me kept asking me what I was doing while I used my software to do this mock up. I because very uneasy and said, “I’m sorry, but I’m on an interview and can’t answer all your questionsâ€. He told me he didn’t know that and that he was instructed by Ronn Bailey to ask me specific questions as he thought I was a paid consultant to teach him. What???? I was appalled. 5:00 pm rolled around – and no lunch. I had a sample done to demo it and Ronn Bailey still was occupied. He had his VP interview me next and even he said for me to really think thoroughly on the offer of this position because Ronn can be a jerk to work for. At that point, I didn’t want the job but felt trapped like I couldn’t even get out of this so-called interview in their conference room. Finally, Ronn came in at 5:30 and asked if I could stay longer (he never apologized for wasting my day and having his “troops†interrogate me). I told him “noâ€. He interviewed me for about ½ hour and I couldn’t wait to leave. When I got back home, I emailed him and I never heard a word back in response to three of my emails I sent. To this day, he created his e-learning department without me, but utilized all the information I indicated to him and his workers – shown on their website. Even down to the software I use and things to inform the participants of the class ahead of taking trainings. He stole all my knowledge that I was up front with them about to show them what I would do if hired for the position (and thensome) and used it for their gain and his profit. As far as the demo I did? The one guy had the audacity to ask for a copy of it (so I suppose he could have a foundation to build from for their training department). I said absolutely not. WARNING – do not do business with this evil company – stay away at all costs. Looking into legalities even now. |
