I tried to use USPassportnow to get my passport online. Their system can not handle some situations. If you have had a passport in the past then there's a good chance this will happen to you.
It will assume that your last passport was not assigned in a certain range of years and will think your last passport expired on a different date than it actually did. I called and USPassportnow representatives directed my to falsify my birth date on the passport application in order to get around the bugs in their system. I told them I would rather not do that and then they disconnected my phone call and billed $130 to my credit card. I called my credit card company and had the charges removed (because uspassportnow never did anything for me). The charges were removed, but several months later they started charging more things to my credit card (and I didn't even contact them or visit their website). I called the credit card company and they now tell me they cannot do anything because when you enter your credit card number on USPassportnow there is some fine print that gives them permission to charge your credit card and evidentially it is legally powerful enough that major credit card company can't get around it. So you get stuck donating money to them even if you get nothing from them.
