USAA
USAA Fraud, deceptive practices, Internet
28th of Jun, 2011 by User573160
So, about a week or so ago, I joined USAA and opened both checking and savings accounts online. I made an opening deposit into both with my MasterCard. This morning, USAA closed my account, stating "we are exercising our right not to do business with you." I asked them how I could get the funds that I deposited into my accounts, and USAA quite rudely informed me that they will not allow me to have my money, and that they do not have to give any reason. They obtained money from me by falsely stating that the funds would be used to fund my accounts and that I would be able to access said funds. Because they took the money for themselves, I feel they defrauded me. (ie, they obtained something of value by making false statements) They even went so far as to suggest that I report them as fraud to my card issuer. Not sure if that is my best option or not.
