US Airlines Company mailed me a scam letter informing me of award of 2 roundtrip airline tickets Phoenix, Arizona |
17th of Apr, 2011 by User480268 |
I just recieved a scam letter in the mail today. First clues this is a scam - the envelope had no return address on it, and my name and address were handwritten versus typed. Second clue - the heading states its from US Airlines, which is a non-existant company, and there was no return address on the letter either. Third clue - "If its too good to be true, it usually is." I would advise that people not even dare call the 800 number on the letters. The letter, dated April 11th, 2011, states exactly as follows: NOTE: You must respond no later than April 20th, 2011. Dear ********: I am pleased to inform you that you have qualified for an award of 2 roundtrip airline tickets. Congratulations. These tickets are valid for travel anywhere in the Continental U.S. from any major international airport. The retail value of this award is up to $1,400. Certain restrictions apply. We have attempted contacting you several times without success. This is our last attempt. If we do not hear from you soon, we may need to issue the ticket vouchers to the alternate. Please call me today at 1-866-593-8946. Regards, Angela King Vice President

I got one today, from Candice Bray, envelope hand-addressed and postmarked Phoenix. Phone number 1-866-989-2504. I didn't bother to call it. Hand-written envelope though. That's impressive. Why me? |

I reveived a postcard from US Airlines telling me I would receive 2 RT airfares to Honolulu + 4 nights accommodations. If I called 1-855-341-1578 within 72 hours I would receive $100 gas. Initially I had the urge to call but didn't because why would anyone give away approx. 2K in benefits for nothing? Bet you this is another scam.

I got one in Joliet, IL, dated May 31, 2011, (postmarked in Phoenix) that said I must respond no later than June 8. Signed by Candice Bray, Vice President. It said they tried to contact me several times without success but I checked my missed calls and, believe it or not, they never called! |

|
I received the same letter today with my name and address handwritten and a signature from Candice Bray, Vice President. I did not call the #1-866-981-5818 but am reporting to the Better Business Bureau, my phone company, and the state (FL) attorney's office regarding this bogus letter. Return postage Phoenix AZ May 24 11pm. |

I called and they said they were some company commissioned out by US Airlines for promotional awards (paraphrased). They said that I had to visit a place in Tinley Park, IL (near where I live) to redeem my tickets where I can see what said company (never got the name) would "treat me very nicely" and show me a variety of services and blah blah before I could get my "award". Sounds like BS. |

I received my letter today from Candice. She is a hard working person hand writing all these bogus letters
She should be Vice President !! However did not understand that she could not contact me. I have three email accounts, home phone with ansewing machine, cell phone which is on 24/7, facebook people at the house 24/7 if you can not contact me you must be using smoke signals. Oh just figure it out, Canice is
blow smoke and not sure what is is smoking because this sounds like a scam from start to finsh. Good luck Candice I hope others are smart enough to figure it out. |

I called and wasted their time on the phone, acting like an idiot, leading them on, then acting like an idiot again. Finally they hung up on me. :-) |

Received this "US Airlines" scam 08/16/11, Presorted postage paid from Phoenix, AZ, signed by Jane Austin. I'm honored to be contacted by such a prestigious figure. This was my "Final Notice", also curiously my first. Supposedly mailed August 4th; expires August 18th (in two days). No rush.
$1, 400 payable to "US Airlines" on behalf of (me).
Pretty safe offer for the scammers, as there is no such company as "US Airlines".
The phone in this version of the scam is 866-207-6178.
Also references Travel Union, Phoenix, AZ 85006 |
