UNLD Law Firm
UNLD Law Firm in California Identified themselves as Fraud Officers for the Federal Government and wanted me to verify the last four digits of a soci

On 11-11-10 I received an unnerving phone call from 315-551-5643. The caller was a foreign gentleman who, after being asked several times, finally identified himself as Officer Jack Thompson from the UNLD Law Firm in California, and said he is working for the federal government. He wanted some personal information, but when I asked if I could have a phone number where I could call him back to verify that he is who he says he is, he became agitated.

He kept asking me to verify who I was, which I never did. But, I was able to get his name (probably phony) and the name of the firm he purported to be calling from, which he identifies. He went on again to say that he worked for the UNLD law firm, which stood for the United Nations Legal Dept., in Los Angeles, Calif., and that there was a 'legal' fraud case with a finance company he was investigating and that he was calling so that he could help me. I told him I was not giving him any information until he would allow me to identify him by letting me call him back and he then became verbally abusive and began cussing at me,saying he was going to kick my ass. I hung up and he called back and said he was going to F ... me tonight. I hung up and called the police. They were very interested and took down the information.

If these people call you don't give them any information. Hang up and call your local police department.

A foreign man said his name was David Cooper asking for my wife's last four and saying that she took a loan out for $1, 000 and did not pay it back. When she asked who he really was he kept asking her to update her information. He threatned to sue her and she told him to go ahead and he disconnected the call. I called him back and he answered the phone and I asked him who he was and he told David Cooper and he put someone else on the phone, another foreign man who told me to shut up m----f------- and disconnected the call. I called him right back and told him that he didn't know who he was f----- with and would locate him, once I told him that I was an employee of the federal goverment (which I am)he shut his stinking mouth. The phony number he called from was 818.302.7511, let the hunt begin!

08/18/2011: A alleged law firm/police department claiming that I took out a loan, which I did NOT, and now am being sued for a few thousand, but will be able to settle out of court for only $535. They have all of my personal information, including social security number, bank account number, address, email address, driver license number and so on. Today was their first call, but I since there will be more to follow as I don't plan to pay them anything under this allegation of taking out loan. It is a man with a very thick Indian. He said his name was Kevin Carter. His contact number is 646 808 3447. His fax number is 206 338 6145. He gave me my case number and a format for a payment authorization letter to be fax if decided to settle out of court. Along with the fax, he asked that I include a copy of my photo ID.

After doing some research and reading these reviews, I plan to alert my bank and my local police department.

This is very scary.

I also received a few calls from that same company. A man with a very thick Indian accent identified himself as "Harry Brown" from UNLD. He said that my social security was being investigated by the state and if I did not return his call he was going to have to take legal action against me. He was very threatening. All I could think of was that credit card commercial where the man calls the man in some Eastern European country and speaks to a big harry guy who says his name is "Peggy." Total scam, but I am worried they may have stolen some of my identity.
