Approximately 13 weeks ago I enrolled in the University of Phoenix online classes. First of all I was rushed through enrollment over the phone (should have been my first clue) and a week later I was starting classes. Two weeks into the program I began asking questions since I was not allowed a choices of classes or told anything about how the costs or financial aid worked. By the middle of the third week I was suddenly dropped from my classes, because I told them I would not be doing school work until I got some questions answered. I was reenrolled the following week after finally having spoke to my "Financial Aid Advisor" who told me that my financial aid would be posted after completion of the week 5 classes. I finished week 5 and called several times and got voice mail, the following week (week 7) I called again and got a recording saying it was an invalid number. I contacted my "Academic Advisor" and a couple of days later my new "Financial Aid Advisor" called me back saying that the former one was no longer with the company. After having had the what is going on with my financial aid discussion conversation with this woman I was told that the process could take up to 3 months. I then informed her that I did not want to be attending classes not knowing how they were going to be paid for. I was then told she would file an expedited request to process my aid, and that she would call me back the following week (week 8). Finally now during week 9 (the last week of this semesters classes) I find a letter posted on my home page that my financial aid disbursement date was to be set for 7/19/11. When I called and asked for a definate date I was suddenly informed that it would be another 3 to 4 weeks and that if I missed any classes that I would have to wait yet another 6 weeks and would lose my money, to the tune of almost $3,000.00 However today after getting this call I look back and notice that the letter for my financial aid has now been removed. And yet according to the email I also received I am to keep checking back on the page which shows my acct. They are also again billing me for more classes in which I did not enroll in and were auto selected for me. This school does nothing but keep feeding me more and more misinformation and false truths. |
