Universal Taxi, Addison IL is a huge scam. The owner GORDON is a biggot. He has no conscience except when it comes to him. He could care less who works for him as long as he gets that $78 fee in his pocket every night from everyone. The cars that he has on the street are for the most part UNSAFE. Bald tires with wires showing through. His response to me when i brought it to his attention one day was "if it is still holding air it is ok". I beg to differ on that point of view. The contract that he has you sign when you go in is illegal because they do not sign it in front of you, or give you a copy of it. All these late fees and fees for this, that and whatever are illegal also. By Illinois state law, even if you are hired as an independent contractor, if you are doing work as an independent contractor, and you do something for the company which causes them to make a profit off you, there is therefore a provision that now makes you an employee. It is a violation of the Illinois Labor Law to monetarily fine employees for something done during the course of their employment. In other words, DO NOT PAY ANY FINES IF YOU WORK FOR THEM !!!!! For your own good, DO NOT WORK FOR THIS COMPANY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
