U.S. Circulation Corp Marquis Fulfillment Agency LLC Scam College students posing as a magazine salesman. Buford, Georgia |

On 2/7/2011 a young man came to my door claming to sell magazines for a school scholarship and trip. The man was nice but wouldn't leave unless we bought something. He explained that other nice neighbors had just donated cash instead of buying magazines so he could put $17 of their dollars towards my 57 dollar magazine order for Taste of Home. Long story short I grab a check book and write him a check for the difference which was $40. He mentioned that if for money reasons I did have to cancel I had 3 days to do so. He said as long as I canceled after 1 day he would get the credit for magazine. He also mentioned that the company would call me in 3 days to verify the order, and at that time I could also cancel. My husband and I left 20 minutes later for a death in the family. Once we got back a few days later I remebered I had not gotten a phone call to confirm my order from the company. I called my credit union that informed me that I could stop payment on the check but I would have to pay a $30 fee. Since the check was for $40 I didn't cancel and was hoping I was jumping the gun, and this wasn't a scam. It was now been 15 days past 120 days and still no magazine. I called this company at the 770-831-7722 number on 6/7/11 ( 120 days after the purchase), two other times and today 6/22. Every time I call any time of day you get a recording telling you all representatives are busy leave a message and they will call you back. I have left several not so nice messages and no phone call back yet. After Googling this company I saw this fraud report and wanted to tell my story as well. I wanted to warn people. These are fake college students scaming people out of their money. Don't fall for the fairly good prices. I just don't want to see this happen to elderly people. |
