We hired Tri-State Home Remodeling to fix some problems in our backyard that needed attention. We hired them because prior to this job they did our kitchen (used a different subcontractor and we loved the work). However the backyard subcontractor, Payments were made as installments which is normal for constraction Tim Marino, however we found out was not an experienced laborer as the prior sub and there were big problems. There were a group of mexicans that dug out the back and did a great job in the heat of June which btw Mike Sciubbia never paid them and they knocked on our door for the money. Disgusting. If i had known at the time we would not have given another check. They asked for a check for $5,000.00 to start out so we gave a deposit. They started working in the beginning of May 2011 which should have been tops a three week job turned into a three month unfinished job. As the weeks went buy they asked for another check for $5,000. We saw some materials had arrived so we gave the second check. Now during this time Tim Marino was working with a few workers here and there but the sub materials he was using were not what we paid for. We paid for EP Henry. We got Lowes cracked special. My husband and I questioned his work from the beginning. We tried to contact Mike repeatedly. Not to be found. He said he was in Pittsburgh I saw he was a drug addict. His blatant disregard for work and people he makes contracts and promises he never keeps. In the meantime Tim Marino continued working in the yard putting in broken stones and a terrible concrete patio which we also tried to stop being poured. He poured concrete over our underground gutter system with flex hose sticking out from the patio. It should have been capped off with PVC but never did. Also he almost wheel barrowed the concrete over my foot. I called Mike repeatedly and he always made promises like he was coming to see the site and never did. Oh btw they asked for an additional $3,000 for the concrete prior to pouring which we never saw Tim Marino after that money again. They broke our light fixtures our sprinkler system, our steps to the outside, and I'm handicapped. Mike even came to the site when I told him I was going to file suit for the $13,000.00 he owed us. He came wrote down some notes promised he was going to get a guy by the name of Harry Rice to fix the yard and complete the job. Never saw anyone never heard from anyone and we're disgusted. Btw I have leukemia and Mike knew that and he still took stole our money, never provided the proper materials and screwed up our backyard. I can't even get my dogs to go out there because it's so muddy and screwed up it's dangerous for them. He shouldn't be allowed to have a license from the construction board to work in New Jersey or any other state. Don't hire him or Tri-State. |
