Trend Motors Used
Trend Motors Used Cars-Sam Marotta Crappy Used Cars Internet
9th of Nov, 2010 by User210363
On 10-14-2010 I purchased a used 2001 Suzuki Grand Vitara Limited from Trend Motors Used car lots. I seen the vehicle on autotrader.com listed for $5995. I was extremely interested in the vehicle so I call and placed a deposit and went in the next day to purchase it. The vehicle was advertised with a alarm and remote start. When I arrived at the dealership the alarm was not functioning properly and I was informed that it was working "just moments before I arrived" and the battery in the remote must of malfunctioned and should be changed. I proceeded to purchase the vehicle as that was not a main concern of mine. I was then taken down to the New Car dealership to complete the transaction. I was greeted by a Greg Schrumpf who completed the sale for me and began to sell me an "extended" warranty. I had informed him that since I paid $6500 cash for the vehicle that I was not sure if I would be able to afford another $1790 for a "warranty" (10% down is what I paid at the time. He informed me that if I changed my mind I could return the warranty. The very next day I decided that it could not simply fit into my budget and proceeded to ask for a refund. I call him the next day on 10-15 to ask for a refund. He informed me that he would have to mail out some paperwork for me to sign and send back. Basically, all I got was the run-around as to why the paperwork never arrived. After almost a month of going back and forth with him I finally received the refund. After purchasing the vehicle I proceeded to investigate as to why the remote start was not working and the doors would not lock and unlock. I found out there were 2 wires that were disconnected from the brain of the alarm module. After plugging them in the alarm appeared to function properly. However, a day later the truck would just randomly shut off while driving (causing for an accident). I unplugged the 2 wires again and the problem seemed to be resolved. I then brought this issue to the attention of the dealership. I tried to speak to Sam so I could inform him about the belts and the exhaust pipe hanging but I was just told to make an appointment with the service department. So I made the appointment and told them all that was wrong. 2 days later I receive a call from the service department that Sam had informed them not to address the hanging pipe. I asked them if they could somehow at least get it back attached instead of replacing it and they won't even do that. So buyers beware as they seem to not check over the used vehicles before putting them on the lot!
