Travco Enterprises Kirby Vacuums High pressure con-artists York , Pennsylvania

Wow! Where do I start? A young couple knocked on our door a few months back. We assumed that they were selling something or collecting money for a local charity so we answered with the best intentions. The female explained that they were visiting the neighborhood and offering a "free cleaning service." I really didn't want to be bothered with this but I told them okay because they assured me that it would only take a few minutes. A van pulled up and took the female away and dropped of another young male. Then the salesmen started their pitch. They disassembled a vacuum in our living room all the while giving us false hope that the "free cleaning" was about to commence. After telling them that we had things to do, the five minute cleaning turned into two-hours! I've got to say that the vacuum actually was pretty nice even though the "home invaders" were not. Then one of the males said that he was trying to win a trip for his family and if I signed an agreement that I could keep the vacuum for three days then return it if I wanted to. They took my vacuum and shampoo machine as a "trade-in." Now I'm stuck with their equipment. After a couple of months I started reading articles online about how these people scam good people and use high pressure tactics to sell these vacuums so I decided to blemish my credit and not pay them. A few months later a "private investigator" called me and told me that I am facing felony charges for receiving stolen property and I needed to take care of this before I'm stuck with several more thousand dollars in fines and court costs. I told them to come and pick up their vacuum, they could have it! The "private investigator' told me that he would get the owner on the phone and see what he could do...what a guy! Did I mention that he was calling me at work and even after I told him this he kept going! Bottom line, I settled for $1,000 (for a vacuum!) and broke it up into three payments. This company is a scam and uses unscrupulous practices to embezzle hard working people out of their money. Don't be taken advantage of like I did. My only wish is that one day they will come to my door and visit me again. I can assure you that the next visit will not go the same way! This same story with the same experience is written on websites everywhere. Someone really should look into this. I will tell everyone that I know (which are many) to never buy anything from these people!
