This is an update to my post on 2/21/11. I did file a complaint with the FTC about TransUnion refusing to send me a credit report for five years, stalling and stonewalling and putting me off with BS excuses. They ask for identification from their "list" which includes some forms of ID I don't have--like a "signed letter from a homeless shelter, a gas bill, stamped post office box receipt, canceled checks (does anybody get those anymore?) The only things that apply to me are my driver license, and a phone bill. TransUnion won't accept cell phone bills either--has to be landline?????So I copied and sent these two ID's to TransUnion. They never sent my credit report, and they didn't explain why. In March I contacted my Senator's office. Trans Union took another 3 months to finally answer his letter to them . Their "legal department"states in essence that my two forms of ID are unacceptable due to my driver license being too dark. I distinctly recall asking the Fed ex clerk if he could read my drivers license copy and he said sure, and he read my name off of it.
This time I'm sending TransUnion a copy of my DL that has been enlarged 200x. I belive anyone could read it. TransUnion legal support specialisit in Fullerton CA goes on to say the address I provided (where I've lived for three years ) is not listed on my Trans Union report. Therefore they require proof of current address, which I have provided for them for the past five years, also with super enlarged copies, and TransUnion has refused year after year to provide me with my free annual report. Makes me wonder what else they have listed wrong on their credit report.
