Allstate Check Recovery Illegal collections and harassment Internet |

A Kim Moreno from this company called for the first time today. I have never received any contact from them previously; however, they called my home, my work and my relatives all with the same message that I was going to be served for a debt to Cash Advance Network because I had failed to respond to their attempts to contact me. First, they had never previously attempted to contact me. Second, I am in a Chapter 13 and thus protected from contact by them or the company they represent and I have proof that the company was legally notified when I filed. She tried to pretend that she was a process server on their behalf and told me I needed to contact them directly at 877-236-9877. When I called and tried to discuss it with them, Rita, the individual with whom I spoke was rude and unprofessional, but tried to say I was yelling at her when I was not. All I did was ask what company she represented and when she finally told me, I said that the contact was illegal because they had been legally notified of my Chapter 13. At that point she hung up. When I tried to call back, hoping to get someone else, she answered again and hung up. Not very professional. Plan to file complaints with Better Business Bureau and Chapter 13 Trustee's office. |

A company called Allstate Check Recovery has been calling me trying to locate my daughter. My daughter took out pay day loans and paid them all off, any of you out there thinking of taking out pay day loans do not do it, these companies are fraudulent, they try to collect debts that have already been paid...It is a scam. The number that they gave me was 877 239 2865 ext 438 the name of the person was Melanie, telling me that there was a process server with a cop ready to serve my daughter a summons to court...this is ALL a scam, if these people call you, turn them in to the authorities, or call your attorney, or do like I am doing and post it so all can see...Terrible that scam artists like this out there preying on the innocent. |

My sister received a call from a company called ACS stating that I am being sued and possibly arrested for a bad check. So my sister called me to tell me. How embarrasing. I called the company and spoke with a Ms. Law and she said I owed a payday loan for over $700. I need to pay or go to court. I have done a couple of payday loans and figured it was my pass creeping up. So I made payment arrangements for a $100 a month. My 1st payment went through. Then I saw a segment on the news about companies calling people and saying they owe payday loans but they didn't. At first I ignored it but then I called the company back requesting to stop my payments so that I can do further research. The person became very abusive. I then asked for proof of this loan and she said that they emailed it to me to check my spam. I said if you are legit it wouldn't go to spam. She became even more abusive. I hung up. I called the company that they said I owed and guess what? I never took the loan out. I applied but didn't proceed. Man was I pissed. I called the company back and let Ms. Law go on and on. I asked are you done yet? Can I talk now? I went off. I decided to contact my local news office and I am going to interview this Wednesday 6/29 at 11am. I hope this helps put a stop to those crooks. Wish me luck |

Hello as I received a call that went just the same as the other calls...I did a little research myself and found out that ACS (allstate check services and allstate check recovery) is located in Rockhill, SC. The major players in the company are Angel Lopez, Felix lopez, martin Cantu. when I called up there to speak to anyone of them they claimed to not have anyone by that name...but I know thats a lie because if you read online it says felix lopez is accused of harrassment and angel lopez is accused of raping a girl that use to work there...Why do we continue to allow these collection agencies to abuse us. After having an argument with a jacqualine about this being illegal she said to me "no its not, the president of our company's wife is an attorney and she advises him on those things. All the times I spoke with them they went from ACR to ACR THEY ARE ALL THE SAME. The full address to the company is: Addison Avenue Rock Hill, SC 29730...so now when we call in we are not being told it is NY, now we know it is in SC. im sending all the complaints to their local news station and in surrounding areas to expose the nerve of these idiots...I hope what I sid help someone. |

Not a complaint. I know this company and while the tactics may seem unconventional, bottom line you owe the money. And if for some reason you are 100% sure you don't than you had your identity stolen and used for cash advance. Given I think most of these debts are rather old(2-3 years, and some that are older) maybe you forgot about it or thought hey this will just go on my credit report no big deal. Regardless of what you think of some of the employees tactics you defaulted on a contract with whatever cash advance place it may be, YOU ARE AT FAULT HERE!!! So if you don't like getting these kinds of calls, pay your debts and it wont happen. |

Thats bull this is a scam. I never took out a payday loan and they contacted me. They also contacted my boyfriend whom never took out one or had a bank account. I contacted my bank as well as an attorney. I was notified that this company is a scam and only trying to get money from people. DO NOT give them you credit card or bank account info they will keep taking out money. These people told me I took out a loan when I was in the hospital at the time and I didnt have a bank account. I opened the account after I supposely got the loan. Some companies online sell your info to companies. This is how they got everyones info. Beware they will keep trying but will never file any paperwork |

Lynx24, nice try...did you even read the complaints before you started foolishly admonishing people about paying their debts? These people never even took out any payday loans. And no, their identities were not stolen, their information was either stolen or purchased by these crooks and is now being misused. No worries though, the criminals you work for will soon be out of business and you will be out of a job.
I know this is what is happening, the same thing happened to my son, he was foolish enough to apply for a payday loan but he never got it...he didn't even have a checking account! You CANNOT get a payday loan without a checking account. Never the less, these thugs call him and me and my 75 year old mother constantly with the same BS threats and nonsense.
To Vcapel: Be sure to get it in writing from the company they claim to represent that you never even took out the loan, you may have a problem because you agreed to make payments. That constitutes acceptance on your part of the validity of the debt and they WILL continue to debit your account. I suggest you close your account asap and open a new one, good luck. |
|

Lynx24 is an employee that works for them trying to act as if he is neutral...You are really a simpleton. Im sure Angel Lopez, Felix Lopez, Martin Cantu, gave you a raise for posting that... |

now they are using the name Ron Shaw, just looked at my bank statement and realized that they are the same people. They did the same tactic never told who the loan was from and stated that they did not want to come to my job. They said I must let them know in an hour. They also called to ask to speak to my supervisor. when they could not they proceeded calling back to to back to back, but we kept hanging up the phone. Guess we will never recover our $$ |

This company has been calling my grandfather's home for the past couple months telling him I would be arrested today and I was being summons... I don't live with my grandfather, and we don't speak often... it is very embarrassing to have family call me saying I am being arrested... and of course they are upset! (I am a mom of 4 small children & never had a checking account, OR a payday loan) I just contacted the company (without seeing these complaints first) and asked the guy to mail me a copy of what I owed or was being "charged" for so I could get a police report started against who ever is using my information... he said he could only email me... but I haven't seen anything yet. Anyone know how to get them to stop harassing my family with these calls???? my grandmother just passed away and the last thing my family needs is someone upsetting them with these nonsense calls! |

I was studying most of all the love spell caster to bring my love Jane back to me.I Desmond have try 3 spell caster but they were jerk and scam i tried all over and over but still no positive response of getting Jane back home. Thank you for your understanding Desmond, over and out, Quite misleading! |

Well I guess I should start at the beginning, that way I can do a good job at boring you before we get to the good stuff!
I was born near the small Illinois town of Beecher City. I am the youngest of four, Walter, & Willie are the idiots that I claim as my brothers. oh and I guess I need to claim my sister Lynn as well! We were raised by our grandmother, our mother was unable to care for us as she was suffering from Multiple Sclerosis, so when I was around 9 months old we all moved into Grammy’s House.Grammy was the quilter in my family, she always made quilts for the new Babies, Weddings & Just Because . She made a number of quilts in a year, no I can’t say just how many but she could make a quilt and hand quilt it in less that two weeks, and no they were not baby quilts she never made anything smaller than a Full Size quilt.
When us kids were home from school one of the ways she keep us occupied was to teach us to embroider, crochet, and sew. Yes, the boys learned as well even if they say they have know ideal what I am talking about! When I was nine I made my first quilt, I picked out the fabrics, pattern, cut the pieces (with scissors. no rotary cutter back then!) and sewed it together on Grammy’s old Singer Sewing Machine. I have to brag a bit and say it didn’t turn out all that bad, but it sure took me a lot longer than it would have taken Grammy. When it came time to Do the hand Quilting, Grammy tried, really she did, to teach me the proper way to move the needle and the correct stitch length. but my fingers just didn’t move the way the should have (that’s my excuse and I am sticking to it!) Every day before I would go to school my quilting looked, shall we say no were near as good as it should have, but for some reason when I came home it was perfect. Yes it took me some time to figure out that when I was gone she ripped out my stitching and redid it all. After about a week of teaching she finely reached over, took the needle from my hand and said, “ your sewing machine is over there, you do that part, I’ll do this part.”
When Grammy first saw a quilting machine in a magazine she was very interested, but she thought the prices were just to much. But would say “ this is what I need, I can stand behind Beth why’ll she quilts, and smack her on the back of the head when she does it wrong.” it was some time after when my Aunt decided to purchase a machine for me, Grammy had passed away a few months before so she wasn’t around to play with it, but I think about her when I am quilting every day.
Are you asleep yet???? J
My business started as a fluke. I had been quilting for my family with no intentions of making it my job, when I got a call asking if I would do some quilting for a neighbor of one of my relatives. She wanted some quilting done ASAP and just didn’t want to do it herself. She was my first real customer, and everything just sort of went from there. Not long after I was in the Local Quilt Shop and was showing a quilt that I had quilted to one of the employees and the next week she anted something done. So with the help of The Local Quilt Shop and Word Of Mouth my business became what it is today. Many things have changed from the beginning, The one week turn around is more like three months and that simple first quilting machine has been taken apart and replaced with a newer larger one that I like to call the Big Green Pain in the …. Neck! Really, that’s what I call it, what did you think I was going to say! |

Alexander left alone in the ward. He was ashamed because he was a laughingstock at the joint. He was dismal because he had sunk to a new low. But another thing that disturbed him every waking moment was the vision.
All of a sudden he heard fretting noise that kept him from concentrating. It resembled the noise of a chainsaw and became louder. Then a monstrous freak with wide load and a rusty anchor instead of a leg with a chainsaw in his hands resembling rakes burst into the room and attacked Alexander to disembowel him. Alexander jumped out of bed and ran through the window. In the street he hopped in an opened ambulance car and pushed on the gas pedal and drove away from the hospital. The freak followed him brandishing the saw. Alexander drove as fast as possible and didn’t notice a speed bump which scratched the underside of the car and pierced the fuel tank. Alexander had to leave the car because it could explode any moment.
When he was out of car he went straight into the hands of the police. He was apprehended for infringement of a public order and for stealing the ambulance car. The parole board decided him to be insane and sent him to a headshrink whom he told the whole story.
-I was attacked by a crazy freak that was brandishing his chainsaw and nearly killed me! I had multiple death threats! Please be benevolent and believe than I’m not paranoid!
-First of all I want to tie up loose ends. Tell me when exactly did these hallucinations begin? - asked the headshrink eating a brownie.
-Please. Knock it off! Help me to make a clean break with the past!
-Keep a level head! Take all the medicines on that list three times a day and don’t stuff your head or it can boil down to wipeout. Do some monotone and soothing work like one-arm push-ups or hedge trimming. – He said smiling.
Alexander realized that he was left alone and had no one to rely.
-Can I go? – he asked.
-Take your time. You are not allowed to leave the asylum till you pass a course of treatment. You pose threat to people. Here you’ll have felicitous conditions to recover. |

When Alexander arrived to the joint Andrew was waiting for him. The catchy name of joint “Babylon” scared him. He flatly refused to come in. Andrew had to pull him in. In the joint Alexander was bombarded with questions:
-Don’t be a tool! I don’t recognize you? Can you explain what happened to you?
-Please, Don’t think that I’m as loony as one-dollar coin, just listen – I was punished… by god…
-mmm. Have you been to church???
-no I haven’t. I pledge my head I saw HIM! Believe me!
-well?! I think you should relax, old bean! Don’t stuff your head with unnecessary things. (to the waiter) Hey runt! 2 martinis! Hm, I like this place! Beanbag chairs, oak tables, even the spittoons are made from crystal! Glitz and glamour! The owner must be an egghead to open such a place when the whole world is speaking about economic slump! He had a trick up his sleeve pulled out at the right moment. I think we should get acquainted with him. it's no-brainer.You know pulling the strings is the most effective way nowadays to make it big. Hey, do you listen to me?
-…sorry? My mind is wandering. I’d better go home.
-no home. To the dance floor!!
Andrew pulled him downstairs where loads of people enjoyed theirselves dancing. Alexander took a stab at scuttling off but Andrew snatched him and didn’t let him go away. The loud music deafened Alexander. He was standing in the very center among drunk smoking pumped-up freaks crying out loud.
Everything mixed. Bright light. And a bloody dismal picture sprang up behind his eyes. It was like abattoir. Not for animals but for people. “Second hell circle” was Alexander’s thought. The circle of people living their lives in spree, wasting money for nothing.
Huge crippled bogeymen were skinning crying people and cutting their organs. Filthy people swarmed in the long queue to the slaughtermen waiting for their death. Alexander found that he was next. He was at death door. No gleam of hope to survive. Suddenly he remembered his childhood when the father felt the pinch and lack some money for buying a nuclear plant and little Alex found his piggybank come in handy. His father was just laughing with smile. But bogeyman snatched his elbow disturbing this idyllic recollection.
-Bug off! Let me go! – he tried to free himself.
But it was too late. A sharp blade stabbed his back. Alexander shouted from pain. He was lying bleeding. He felt strong pain. Every movement hurt him. Then he turned his head and noticed lungs lying near him, his lungs. There were covered with black crust. Nicotine and resin made holes in them. No wonder, Alexander was a chain smoker. Now he couldn’t breathe and started to suffocate. Finally he passed out.
Alexander came around dislocated. He tried to get head together and remember what had happened to him. It was white everywhere. “That is how the paradise looks” – thought Alexander.
-Thank heaven! He came around! – heard he Andrew’s voice.
-Am I dead? – asked Alexander in a weak voice.
-Your time hasn’t come yet! – Andrew was over the moon to see his friend. – You passed out right in the middle of dancefloor and fell down on glass. You were hardly injured. The doctor had to roll up his sleeves to get all the chips out. Don’t you remember?
-No, I just remember the slaughter house… for people…
-What are you talking about? Oh, you had a nightmare – he smiled. – Now all the worst is over. Have a rest. I won’t disturb you. – and left the hospital ward. |

Next moment a splitting scream disturbed the silence. The scream of little infants like somebody hurt them didn’t make him stop. He went on moving to the center of circle smashing little bodies. Step by step this horrendous scream amplified – it became louder and louder. Suddenly Alexander started to drown. Something pulled him down. He closed his eyes without resistance. He felt how cold squash bodies was sticking to him, their umbilical were entwining and suffocating him. The screams deafened him.
Alexander opened his eyes. He heard loud car beep. He looked around: he was sitting in his convertible in the middle of the road. Annoyed drivers of the cars behind him went on beeping. Alexander pressed on the gas pedal without understanding what had happened.
When he got home he never stopped thinking about today events.
-I’m going mad. What was it? And was it really? Maybe it was wake-up call and I’m doomed to go through troubles? Is it my comeuppance? Or was it a dream? I’m crazy. – thought he sitting in his armchair.
An old antiquarian pendulum stood on the table near Grace’s snap. He gazed at the pendulum and the infant’s cemetery; eviscerated bodies sprang up in his head. It made him remember today events.
-Get lost from my head! Get lost! – shouting this words he took the pendulum and broke it.
Next moment he heard his phone ringing. It was his friend Andrew.
-Have you got my evite? – heard he familiar voice.
-No, I haven’t checked mail yet.
-What happened? Why are you so nervous?
-no I’m ok. It seemed. And what about the evite?
-well recently a new joint has opened. We want to go there. Will you join?
-…yes. I will. I need to relax.
-ok. See you.
After the call he calmed down a bit.
“Life goes on. And I must move on and shouldn’t distract my attention at things like stupid vision.”-he assured himself. |

Progressive has an appealing ad campaign and presents itself as a hip, cool and -- for lack of a better term -- progressive insurance company. Maybe it is but the consumers whose comments appear in this section would beg to differ.
A few of the more recent complaints ...

They have a very rude auto insurance representative. Her phone is always turned off. If you leave a message, she never returns phone calls. She doesn't know anything about customer service. I had to change insurance as I didn't like the experience with her.

I am very unhappy with the "service" I received from Progressive in Pasadena. Cinthia V ******** harassed, intimidated, and bullied me when I was trying to get my car fixed after I was rear-ended by a man who said he "didn't stop soon enough". Although this incident was not my fault and the burden would be on the man's insurance (Auto Club of So Cal), Ms ******** interrogated me for HOURS while I was trying to do my job regarding the extent of my damages. She called repeatedly to harass me - she told me I could handle my claim directly with Auto Club (then why do I have an insurance company? ); she raised her voice and several times implied that there was nothing wrong with me or my car.
My daughter suffered whiplash - for which she was treated and was in pain for several weeks; I had neck and back pain for which I was also treated; so I did not care to dispute whether or not there were "damages" with Ms ********; yet she continued to exclaim that nothing had occurred and that there were no damages and that I could handle my claim myself with Auto Club. She acted like a frustrated attorney-wanna-be and mishandled my claim. From then, the problems continued - until I requested that they transfer my claim to the Irvine Office.
I had to request supervisors and managers in order to have my claim transferred to the Irvine office (I live in Orange County - Irvine specifically). I spoke to a couple of representatives from the Pasadena office who were refusing to transfer my claim to the Irvine office until I was finally able to glean the name of their Regional Manager, Mr. David ********. I sent Mr. ******** a message via email and voicemail and have not heard from him to date; at this point, however, armed with the name of the Regional Manager, they said they would transfer my file to Irvine. I spoke to the manager in Irvine (Dania) and she was extremely helpful. Things seemed like they were going to be alright. My point, however, is that if I had been seriously injured and/or in the hospital, would I still be harassed, intimidated, bullied and told that I could handle my claim directly with Auto Club?? ?
My experience was so stressful and reprehensible yet no one has contacted me to discuss their philosophy at the Pasadena office. Finally, due to an error on the part of Progressive or Auto Club, they paid the car repair in full and sent me a check for the bumper repair. In February, they sent a letter from their subrogation department requesting I return those funds. At this time, I reminded them that they had not yet reimbursed me for the car rental I required while the vehicle was at the shop. Again, no response to my request from Progressive -this time from their Subrogation Department - regarding my rental expense of $346. So, I returned the overpayment minus my car rental expense and sent the check via Fed Ex.
I received a harassing call today from Catherine from the subrogation department - I told her I had been working with JD and would like to speak with him and was told that JD was not available and to let her know NOW what I had sent in the mail; I explained that I sent a check Fed Ex and there was a delay since I wanted to know what they were doing about my car rental expense and she repeated..."again...what did you mail"...over an over she would say this. She was very rude as well - condescending and disrespectful. I have been a Progressive customer for 4 years and have never filed a claim; filed a claim for which I was not my fault and was treated worse than a criminal. Then, they make a mistake in their accounting of payments for repairs and they are yelling at me.

Repair facilities Beware! We own a RV repair business that is mobile and do numerous insurance jobs and recently experienced the worst encounter with Progressive Insurance. The job was very extensive and time consuming. Communication was slow and phone calls not returned. The customer was informed by the adjuster that they should have taken it to a shop because they have the parts in stock.
This company did the he said she said game with the customer, causing conflict. We were not paid for the numerous trips and shorted on documented time because they have been to school and know all about repair time. You must provide a current invoice for all parts with a suggested retail or they will give you what they deem the retail and you will not like it.
If you do a job for this company, be sure to get your check before you start the job. The consumer should be aware that they may end up putting part of the bill when it is not covered by their assigned averages. By fa, r the worst claim experience filed with an Insurance company in the last 10 years. Even their so called "supervisors" are not helpful and do not return calls or follow up on an scheduled date. We are still waiting on the final payment that has been altered numerous times and is still very short. Frustrated!

I had a 3003 Dodge Ram 4x4 diesel with approximately $20, 000 of aftermarket equipment installed. I have owned the truck since 2005. Just the past year, I have spent approximately $10, 000 on maintenance; more specific, tires $1, 800 and new bulletproof aftermarket transmission $5, 000, etc. I loved my truck to death! It was my baby. My truck had been stolen three times. First time, they stole the wheels, stereo, etc. Probably a $4, 000 loss (no comprehensive on truck, my mistake). The second time, they just took my personal items, the whole truck was intact. Simply a "joy ride" situation and was found the next day. The second time, I reported the truck to my insurance company but did not make a claim. Progressive still had the theft on my record, although they never paid any money out which kind of annoyed me. They didn't raise my rates, which I thought was good.
The third time was devastating. This time, they stripped the entire truck! They took $3, 000 wheels and tires interior, stereo equipment and other parts that were not covered under insurance. Probably, $7, 000 worth of accessories. This part was annoying. Basically, since insurance didn't pay for these items, I was out again even with comp coverage; not to mention the $5, 000 transmission that was still in the truck! At first, I was very discouraged reading all the horror stories of insurance fraud investigators: Stopped payment checks on repairs, denial of claims, etc. I dealt with a lady name Taunya **, who works for Progressive as a Fire Theft Insurance Person. At first, I was frustrated due to the length of time she told me it would take. They requested phone records, interviews, financial statements, etc. I thought, all of this was kind of awkward, but delivered what they asked for without hesitation. I talked to people and they explained she was just doing her job, which I understood.
After doing research online, I came to find out there are people out there being arrested for stealing their own cars, setting them on fire, staging accidents, etc. that cost them millions of dollars! When it was all said and done, they declared that the truck is a total loss and even offered to sell me the truck with a salvage title. It was very tempting to buy the truck back, especially with the $5000 tranny still in it. They wanted too much for the truck for me to be able to put it back together. They paid me via check for the total loss, which I thought was a very generous amount. I will continue to use Progressive and was satisfied overall with the process. Taunya was very professional and timely with communications, and more than fair with the total loss. People have to realize that they are just doing there job and have a regimen that they have to follow in order to keep our rates reasonable. Just be patient and comply with what they ask for. I miss my truck everyday, but after losing so much money on accessories, I don't think I will own such a flashy vehicle that is so attractive to thieves. When I do purchase a new truck, I will make sure my aftermarket parts are insured.

I had a car accident on Jan 30, 2011. Two cars were moving backward and there was a little bump. The person in charge of my case in my insurance company, Progressive, was reluctant to collect the information. Loraine was very reluctant to receive a diagram explaining the accident scene by fax. I asked her fax number and she told me a clear lie at that time that her fax was connected electronically so it would take more than two days to receive it. And she did not tell me her fax number. And she decided already it was 100 % my fault at that time.
I had to contact the claim grievance department of Progressive and I required Korean translator even though I could speak English. The first thing that I begged to the Korean translator was to tell me the fax number so that I could send the diagram. Loraine was still reluctant to receive the fax and she urged me to explain without the diagram. She insisted that I should use North, South, East and West to explain verbally without the diagram. How could anybody explain clearly the accident scene pointing out clear directions? Anyway I did it as she required and after a long talk I could manage to send the diagram by fax.
Some days later. I received a phone call from Loraine that finally it was decided and it was still my 100 % fault. I just listened and hung up the phone. But the next day, I received a phone call from an independent researcher of the accident. He asked me to make an appointment to take pictures of my accident car the next day. I found that Loraine had made a decision already before the investigation of the accident was still going on. So I called Loraine's supervisor Anthony *** to explain this awkward situation. He spend more than one day to investigate internally. He told me he would review the telephone record. Then I talked him again by phone if he clearly accepted there had been procedural mistakes in the decision.
And I asked him why his employee had been so strange and contacting the client. He told me he didn't know the reason. He apologized but he could not change the decision. He accepted his company's mistakes but the decision can not be overruled. He hinted the decision should be made according to the cost of decision not by the truth. I explained about the procedural defects and my rights but it was all in vain. So I am trying to contact his supervisor in Progressive. What I realized in this situation is that this company does not care about the client's right or benefit at all. Their concern is only their profit.
They just want quick solution to save their cost. Progressive is a big company for me to handle. I think they already knew it and they just want to neglect one small customer.

My son and his girlfriend were involved in a hit-and-run car incident by a driver of someone insured by Progressive Auto Insurance. They were smart enough to get the license plates from the vehicle, as it fled the scene. The Chesterfield police were called, and a report was taken. The kids could identify him, because he initially got out of his car and told them to pull over to the side and he would pull over too. That is when he fled the scene.
The kids were shook up and were already complaining of headaches. They went to the Emergency Room and had x-rays along with CAT scans. Both were ordered by the doctor to stay home several days and were on pain meds. Ironically, the days after the accident, the pain impacted them significantly. Both were miserable.
We expected that when the hit-and-run driver was found, his insurance (Progressive) would cover the cost of the hospital bills and (hopefully) lost work also.
I attempted to speak to someone in claims several times. After several calls and hours of research, I found the agent and made four attempts to call. His voice mail was full due to vacation. I called the Progressive claims number and was repeatedly told he was the only one who could help me. Once I was able to leave a message, I did, and he returned my call just to tell me the things he needed before offering a settlement. I told him we just wanted reimbursement for the hospital visit and missed days at work. He said he needed to have proof that the kids' insurance did not cover the accident and that if it did, how much it covered.
I sent him copies of the hospital bills, and he returned my calls, saying he needed more than bills--he needed reports to see if they were willing to pay the Emergency Room visit. The agent stated that my kids have to sign a release for all medical records and reports in order for them to check the validity and to check for any previous head or neck trauma. I've been going back and forth for a year now. The kids do not have health insurance that covered the accident. And now, I have a multitude of late fees and fines.
I thought the insurance company was supposed to take care of this. All I wanted was to get the money to pay the hospital and their missed work. At this point, I am so angry. If someone would please help me or tell me what I can do, I would be deeply appreciative. One more thing, I also sent a complaint email to their general claims complaint line. But I have been told they needed more information too: the insured's policy number, etc., etc. I'm ready to get my kids everything they are entitled to at this point--anything, pain, suffering, etc.

I was a customer of Progressive Insurance for my van since October 20, 2009. I just switched to AAA today January 25, 2011 because I received an offer in the mail for a free quote and was quoted less than of what Progressive charged me. My rate was up to $92.50 due to an accident I had. They upped my points by 3, due to this. AAA just informed me that this was a no-fault accident, when Progressive plainly said that it was my fault. I am now paying $40.40/month at AAA.

I had an auto accident on 12/12/10. The police and tow truck was called to scene. Progressive asked my permission to remove the vehicle to have appraised to which I consented. They towed the vehicle to an auto salvage auction lot. Progressive declared that the vehicle totals to what it should not have been. They offered a low-ball offer. They misrepresented facts of comparable vehicles used to estimate value of total loss of vehicle. I was told that I could hire an adjuster on my own to dispute findings. Upon finding the information, where the car was located on 12/18/10, I went to Co Part Auto after being refused for an hour to see my vehicle because they have Progressive listed as the owner. I come to find extensive damages to which were not involved in the accident and police and auto body shops are willing and able to testify to the damages not being present at time of accident.

I was in an accident on the e-way which totaled the truck. I still owe $17, 000 on the truck but they are offering $2, 000 less then what the truck is worth. I still have to pay a $1, 000 deductible and the cost of a loaner car. I feel that's very unfair.

My car was in an accident. The rear passenger door was damaged. As part of Progressive Insurance coverage, Progressive is only allowing use of a salvage door for replacing the damaged door. It was pretty shocking to me. But the Progressive representative is saying it is in my policy somewhere.

I was driving home on Hwy 52 and a car was turning left. Oncoming traffic would not let him turn so I had to stop. I was stopped long enough for the car to turn and was rear ended by a car. It hit so hard that it slammed into my suburban, busted the back window and his headlight hit me in the back of the head.
I was carrying a disabled veteran with his rascal scooter on the back of my truck. The wheel of the scooter was stuck in the engine of the car that hit me, the seats in my suburban were bent back almost straight, the guy was 84 and had restrictions on his license not to drive at night.
The guy behind him said he never saw a brake light come on the man's car. I reported the accident to my State Farm and Progressive. Progressive said they would call me, but haven't heard anything. I'm stuck with no car, the disabled veteran I was with has not way to get around now. Every time I call, Progressive says excuses like we have to wait, he has to talk to the driver of the car, and he said he will come look at my car and never shows up.

I carried Progressive insurance on my vehicles for 7 years with no claims. Through the whole 7 years, they had full access to my checking account via ETF. When I purchased a new Harley, they refused to insure it and fax the card to the dealer because I did not have a motorcycle endorsement on my driver's license. Without insurance, I could not pick up bike from dealer. Without bike, I could not take driving test for motorcycle endorsement. So I insured the new bike with Geico over the phone. Geico faxed the card to the dealer and gave me 30 days to get my driver's license endorsement.
I was so pleased with Geico's service and rates that 3 weeks later, when I bought a second Harley, I had Geico insure it and all my vehicles. Once all vehicles were insured by Geico and I had policies in hand, I called Progressive and told them to not renew my policies when they expire the next month. Their customer service representative promised not to renew the policies. Months later, I get a bill from Progressive for unpaid premiums. I called and they told me I was in arrears since policy renewal date, yet they never mailed the new policies they supposedly renewed, nor did their computer show a record of my request to not renew coverage.
I told them it was mighty odd that I never got new insurance cards or a new policy in the mail, yet they claimed they had renewed the policy. I told them they had some serious record keeping problems and that if I truly owed them money, they had the ability to withdraw it from my checking account. The service representative replied that they no longer had access to my checking account and couldn't take the money. I said, "Yeah, the lady I talked to when I declined renewal must have only deleted that record, but failed to do whatever she needed to do to prevent renewal." I refused to pay for their mistake. Now Progressive has turned it over to a collection agency and ruined my credit rating which will possibly hurt my rates with Geico. Progressive Insurance is a bunch of crooks who get vindictive when you switch providers. They need to be sued from every direction.

Was with the Progressive Auto Insurance for three years. No accidents, nothing. They raised my rates $15 every six months with no explanation in the billing. I called and they said it is because of a state law, a MN state law requiring us to do it. It stated fees they said. I cancelled the policy and voila! I get a new bill in the mail and it is for six more months at the old rate! I got phone calls begging for me to stay with them. They can work this out so I don't leave them. I told them in so many words to KO and that I will never purchase their insurance again for the scheming and conning they tried on me. The commercials are all lies. They get you to sign then they raise your rate when you feel comfortable. Losers!

My previous monthly payment was $250 per month. This was very high as I have a perfect driving record and my car is a few years old, but I was willing to pay it. Then I received a renewal notice for my next 6 month policy from Progressive this week. They raised my premium so I would be paying $450 per month to insure a car worth approximately $8, 000.
I went to a local insurance agent and received a quote for a 12 month policy for $1162. Progressive's response when I told them all of this was that they had previously estimated their costs in MA incorrectly and had to raise premiums accordingly. I responded that the repair costs for Safety Insurance, my new insurer, would certainly be the same in my state as Progressive's costs.

My daughter was rear ended by a policy holder of Progressive insurance on 10/28/10. The City of Fairfax Police issued the at-fault driver a citation as well. On the same day, I contacted my insurance company, State Farm, and reported the accident. State Farm instructed me to file a claim directly with Progressive, which I did. Claim #101643987. Approximately one week later, their adjuster came out and assessed the vehicle (a 1998, V70 Volvo station wagon) and gave an estimate of $6, 990.54 to repair our auto. They also declared the vehicle totaled and provided a value valuation report with a Market Value of $2431.10 and had attached comparable vehicles as comps. The comps provided were, in my opinion extremely misleading and grossly inaccurate as I took the time to call each one and ask very basic questions with regard to the condition of their vehicle for sale. Here's what I found:
Auto 1 supposedly sold - dealership also has an "F" rating BBB for quality issues and selling practices.
Auto 2 - Car had 2 owners and in was in an accident on Sept. 18, 2008.
Auto 3 - Does not exist in Auto Trader. Additionally this comp is in the Annapolis Md. area and not metro Fairfax VA.
Auto 4 in WVA - long way from Metro Fairfax and not comparable to what one would expect to pay in my area and when I called the person explained that the car had a bad turbo and was smoking.
On top of these ridiculously low comps, Progressive arbitrarily assigned a made up discount labeled "Projected Sold Adjustment" ranging from $160.48 to $668.19 making their payout completely unrealistic. When I questioned them with regard to the quality of these comps, there reply was: Scott, these are the closest comps we could find to your vehicle. If you can locate a 1998 Base Model vehicle showing the alloy/3rd seat option then you can certainly submit that for review.
In my observation Progressive is intentionally providing misleading information to me with the anticipation of not providing me with a fair and accurate replacement value as NADA rates this vehicle at $4, 525 to $5, 975. My Volvo was a one-owner vehicle with all the scheduled maintenance performed (have documentation) and no accidents. Again Progressive provided me with completely misleading comps that were nowhere near the condition of our vehicle. They also did not take into consideration the DMV costs of transferring, registering and paying sales tax on a new car. In my opinion, Progressive has misrepresented the actual cash value of the vehicle before the accident.
Additionally we are now into week two without a car and having to incur extra expenses for driving arrangements for our family. Not to mention the emotional distress their client put on my 17-year-old daughter when he recklessly plow into the back of our car. Therefore I would ask that Progressive reimburse me for the average NADA fair market value at a cost of $5, 250. Or they can repair my existing car.

I have been a body shop owner and manager (two years as an adjuster) for 18 years. I deal with major insurance companies every day. If your car has been involved in an accident, please take time to be your own adjuster first. Remember. You are the owner of the vehicle. If an insurance company demands that you have your car repaired at a shop they recommend (DRP Shop) and pretends they can force you, remind them that federal and most state laws prohibit insurance company steering.
They can only make a recommendation, not a demand. Anytime you take your car to an insurance company preferred body shop, there are a few things you should do first: (1) Ask if they have a written warranty for the workmanship. (2) Demand that you are contacted once the estimate is complete so that you can see the damages listed. (3) Demand genuine original manufacturer replacement parts (unless otherwise noted in your policy). (4) Once you have a copy of the estimate, take it and your photos to other shops and get a time quota. Again, you own the vehicle. Do not sign a repair order until you are satisfied with the repair details.

My spouse and I were out of town when our vehicle was stolen and set on fire! We were not contacted about the incident until the following day. It has now been 3 months and I am still awaiting settlement of my claim. The most recent events are that we are to go to a deposition, to tell them, yet again! We did not do this! Nor did we facilitate it. We hate feeling like we are paying insurance to be investigated. I really hate how violated having a possession stolen can be, now our insurance is behaving like it's our fault. Honestly, I almost feel powerless, like there is nothing we can do to expedite this. I have signed over all my rights to the vehicle, yet I am still making all my scheduled payments. What the heck can I do?! Nothing, that's what! I just have to hope the judicial system works in my favor.

I just changed my homeowners insurance to Progressive "Homesite Insurance Company" in September 2010 after receiving a very good quote. Now October 2010, my bank receives a letter that the company is canceling my homeowners insurance. I called Homesite and they said it is because I need to replace the rotten shingles on my roof. OMG I have a slate roof in excellent condition. I told the woman that slate doesn't rot. She said, "Well, it is really dark in spots, are you sure it is slate?" "Yes, I am sure I have it inspected and repaired as needed." I asked her, "Do you want me to clean it?" She checked with her supervisor and came back and said, "No, you need to replace the rotten shingles and then we will come out and inspect to rewrite the policy." She still couldn't tell me which "shingles were rotten. I guess she just doesn't know that slate doesn't rot! I think it is a bait and switch deal and they want to raise the premium.

On May 30th 2009, my 2003 Ford Windstar was stolen out of a TJ Max parking lot. I called the Mecklenburg county police department and then notified Progressive Insurance. While going through the initial questioning, I was sent some paperwork that my husband and I had to have notarized and after which the nightmare started.
They had a special investigator question us, check phone records, financial statements, and even interviewed family members outside our household. We answered everything to the best of our knowledge only to find out our claim was denied 8 weeks later based on credit and the key having a transponder. We were devastated. Although we were financially challenged, we never missed a payment nor were we ever late on our policy.
Not knowing how to move forward with legal representation, we continued to pay the car note even though we no longer had the vehicle. 16 months later, we received a call from the bank that a dealership (Planet Suzuki) was trying to get them to release the title. They immediately called us and without hesitation, my husband called the police and went to retrieve the van.
When the office arrived, he ask for the owner who's name is Hemi, how do you sell a vehicle with no paperwork and he stated he had the papers for my van. When asked to produce them he said that is a 2002 ford Windstar knowing it was a 2003. This person was nervous and repeatedly insisted I could take the vehicle in hopes that this was the end of this matter. He then gave us the key and was still nervous and continue to say "everything is alright now right." The officer asked him how long did you have this vehicle and he replied " 4 months" but the person we spoke with at the bank said the lady said 8 months. After providing progressive with this information they came back out and took photos of the vehicle which had damage to it. They also took photos of the keys and made comparisons. They took oil and transmission oil samples and 6 weeks gone by and they denied our claim again. Based on their original reason or denial.

My wife was involved in an accident in which an elderly lady insisted she had the right of way to the point of driving up on a lawn and attempting to pass. She side swiped the car my wife was in and stopped her car on the lawn. She left the scene of the accident and went directly to the house on whose lawn she was parked, She immediately called Progressive to file a claim, at which point they told her that she had the right of way. There was no investigation and they simply took her word for what happened. The claim was processed in her favor immediately. The time of the accident and the time of her call to Progressive were identical. Mr. *** stated that he took the word of the first person who called as their statement would be "the freshest."
My wife was fully in her lane and the lady simply refused to be cut off in that manner. She was not struck by my wife's car and she could and should have avoided the accident instead of driving around on the wrong side on someone's lawn. The result is Progressive added their own additional charges to my policy and there was never any notice of surcharges sent to me. As a result of what they said is a major fault on my wife's part. Without the ability to appeal a surcharge, Progressive simply went ahead and increased my premium. Also, they add everyone to the same cars even though no one else can drive one of my cars, which is the most expensive one. It's also a standard shift which I am the only one who can drive it.
As a result. my car has damage to it and Progressive only paid me $77 for over $1200 in damages and charged me the $500 deductible as well. The older lady got immediate attention and her car was repaired at a cost of over $3, 000, even though she caused the accident as well as leaving the scene to call the insurance company first. Progressive denies what Jim *** must have said. If anyone was to look at the times, they would see that it's impossible to be at a scene of an accident and be talking from a phone from a private residence.

I was in a accident where I was backing out of a handicapped parking space. The other car was not looking and backed into the left back part of my SUV bending the bumper. He jumped out and said, "I am so sorry, I will give you what you want." I asked if he had insurance and was told he had Progressive Auto Insurance. I took his information and called Progressive. They admitted to the accident. I took my SUV in to Pression Auto Body.
Progressive rented me another SUV after I told them I had just had a total right hip replacement. They put me in a Kia SUV which was too low. I contacted both them and the car rental place and told them that the SUV was to low. They then put me in a Expedition which was too high.
I told them and nothing was done. Finally, I was contacted by an agent from Progressive after 1 week to talk about my bodily injury. Before they knew the extent of my injury, they offered me $900.00 and said that was all they could do. I told them I wanted to go and see my hip surgeon to make sure that nothing was wrong with my hip. I was told by my doctor that I would have to pay up front in order to see him. I explained this to Progressive and was told they could get me in without me having to pay for the visit.
They were wrong I had to pay up front! I seen the doctor and was told my hip is still in place but the pain and soreness that I am feeling is due to the accident, my sitting too low and climbing to high in the rental trucks. Progressive got the doctors report and says that since there was no great injury, they would give me $1, 500 for my trouble.
It is not about the money it is about the insulting gestures and comments made to me by Progressive agents. I still have yet to hear from them about my truck which is sitting to one side. I was told that I needed to get the truck realigned. Progressive, I am praying for your agents because anytime you speak to a potential client the way your agents have spoken and done me. You need much prayer!

My son was hit by a drunk driver insured by Progressive. The driver was driving a 2009 Jaguar and his car failed to yield right of way and hit a Mustang and then my son's car. My son's WRX, which he had for two months, was totaled.
Progressive will not even offer half of what it will take to buy a comparable car and they refused to deal with anyone other than my son thinking they will chew him down. My son needs a car to get to work. Progressive refuses to provide a rental. Short of a lawsuit, I don't know what else to do. This is why lawyers get rich. Progressive will not return calls promptly and refuses to allow my son to talk to a manager. We have talked to our insurance agent who is trying to get them to budge, but it would seem to me seeing that their client was drunk and arrested that the fault lies solely with their client and they should pay to replace the car.

My daughter was involved in an accident in my car, where someone ran the red light and she had permission to drive the car. We had to obtain a rental from Hertz rental on the day of the accident, so that I would have transportation because adjusters were not available for the weekend. My daughter left messages for the adjuster (Brian) and until this day no return phone call. Finally, was given the info for the other driver's adjuster, Geri (sp). left messages, again no return call until four days later, when I stated that I would call corporate. She stated that she had not been in the office. (granted rental from Hertz paid for by me.) She finally put us in a rental on 8/12/10.
The agent, Geri left a message on my daughter's voicemail stating that the they could no longer provide a rental for her on Friday 8/20/10 b/c of info that was not provided. Rental was not for my daughter, but for me. So, we have to come up with funds in order to have a transportation for the weekend. Enterprise was very helpful. I have rental coverage, on my plan. Not sure why we are having to pay for rental out-of-pocket, which has put us in a financial bind. My daughter is power-of-attorney. The at-fault driver was also covered w/ Progressive.
So, we had to find a way to cover the costs for a rental through weekend. I am suffering from a brain tumor and in the care of Dr., I have an appointment on 8/24/2010 and will have no means of transportation b/c I cannot pay for a rental after 8/23/10. We purchased a vehicle for our son that had a prior salvage title that wasn't damaged at all. It was fixed by a professional, inspected by the state of Missouri and was in great shape. We took out Progressive Insurance. They ran the VIN. We paid the same rate as anyone else. During a heavy downpour of rain and flooding, the vehicle was parked and the vehicle got flooded where water has never been before. We filed a claim. The NADA value of the vehicle is $11, 500.
Through talking to several people with the insurance company, I realized they are deducting things I never heard of and they won't pay but 40% of the value of the vehicle. I stated I would like them to buy a replacement vehicle or tell me a place to do so for that! It can't be done. I don't see how an insurance company can do this while charging the same premium as any other vehicle and only paying 40% the value. We would have expected a little less, like 60 or 70% of the value, but 40%? That's crazy! When we get this settled, we will never and would never suggest anyone to do business with Progressive Insurance Company.
My son works hard at a full time job every day. He bought this vehicle, got a loan and has been paying payments and insurance premiums on time and is not even driving the vehicle. It got flooded, and the total they'll pay for it is 40% of its value. That is just enough to pay it off and he still does not have a vehicle to drive. That is a great experience and really makes a young person who is trying to do the right thing, and gets shafted this way really puts them in a bind and makes them wonder why try to do the right things when you get shafted. Thanks!

This company canceled my policy in mid June, without any written notice! My policy states I was covered until the end of July, so in early July, I logged on to their website to make a payment and was shocked to see that they had canceled my policy 3 weeks prior! I then called Progressive and was told that I would be reinstated if I sent in the payment. I said I wanted to check around for a better rate and found it with 21st Century, so I purchased my insurance with them.
Today, 7/30/10, I received a call from a collection agency for Progressive saying I owed them money! I told her to kiss off and then called Progressive and was told that Progressive had covered me without them receiving a premium! Excuse me? Since when does an insurance company cover you without you paying first? I am not amused!
I have no debt, other than my mortgage payment! I work very hard to keep my excellent credit rating and to have a company file a bogus claim with a collection agency is frustrating, to say the least! They will ruin my credit rating with this **! There is nothing worse than to be harassed by the arrogant employees of a collection agency when you do not owe them!

Progressive has an appealing ad campaign and presents itself as a hip, cool and -- for lack of a better term -- progressive insurance company. Maybe it is but the consumers whose comments appear in this section would beg to differ.

My car was involved in an accident. It was not my fault. Progressive, the other person's insurance, totaled the car. They sent a check for the cash value of the car which I was not happy with, so I took them to court. I lost. So, Progressive went and stopped payment on the check already sent by them.

No adjusters were available for the weekend but promised that Brian will call us on Monday. After this accident, I will drop Progressive, b/c of untrue commercials that service is so good and simple.

Progressive has continually left outstanding bills for my brother's health care. To the point that some contractors have had to file a lawsuit to begin recovering outstanding bills. Mounting nearly $100, 000. Currently the Neurologist has refused treatment due to so much outstanding bills. Also the prescription provider has threatened to stop providing meds as prescribed by several physicians.
This is causing stress on the family of the patient, care providers, case manager, etc.
