Hi, Randy here don't trust your mortagage Co. to start , they recommended Total Protect Gold to me and i though well must be good company then , if my mortgage company is recommending them to protect mine and their interest. Boy was i wrong i have been with total protecty gold for about two years now and when i need them the most is when they let me down, never filed a claim untill 8/14/2011 , I had just stepped out of the shower when my wife came in and said the house is smelling like natural gas and when i came out of the bathroom the house was full of gas ! we turned the gas off and opened the doors so the gas would clear out , turned the gas on so i could check for leaks and it was the hot water heater thermostat not working right , so i decided to call total protect gold and let them fix it , thats what i had been paying them for,, so i called and filed a claim and they set a plumbing company out to check it out today 8/16/2011. First thing he said before he even checked anything is they will not appove this claim i can tell you now , because it had copper tubing going from the wall to the valve on the hot water heater and it has corrison in it causing the problem with the thermostat ! he said that was illegal to do that use copper tubing on the gas line . well it has been that way since i brought the house back in the mid 90's and it was inspected then and when we had the gas turned on when we moved in the gas company came out and checked it and inspecked it and said it was fine . so anyway i am out $60.00 for the dedectable and $ 50.00 a month for two years and still have to fix my hot water heater . |

Total Protect Gold Home Service Plan ripped me off in Gaithersburg, MD. I had a water leak in a pipe coming from my furnace. I called Total Protect Gold to get it fixed. They sent out a plumber, but he said he couldn't repair a furnance pipe, but I had to pay the $75 deductible anyway. I reported this to Total Protect Gold and they sent out a furnace repairman. He said he couldn't fix the leak until he had authorization from Total Protect Gold. After two days, the authorization guy called me and said my furnace leak was not covered in my contract because, in the judgment of the furnace repairman, the leak was a "pre-existing condtion, " ie, it happened before my contract went into effect. By this definition, most of the repairs needed in my house would be "pre-existing conditions, " so I cancelled my contract. I was told that the deductible and my first monthly fee would NOT be refunded so I'm out $125 plus wasting my time for a week.
Beware of this company! |
