My wife and I needed to do something regarding our home mortgage. We live in the small town of Monroe, New Hampshire. Even though we have been making our payments, the interest rates and payments are way to high. The bank was unwilling to help us, so we found the Modification Group online. We contacted the Modification Group, and they talked us into using their company to modify our home loan. They asked for three payments totaling to $1995.00. They also said it would take up to 90 days to get our loan modified, and if they were unsuccessful, we would get an 80% refund. TMG faxed us all the documents we needed to sign. We fill out the required information along with all of our financial documentation and faxed it back several times. This company would call us every week in the beginning. They would give the same update by letting us know that their lawyers are working with our bank towards a modification and a close could be at any time now. After about 6 months, the weekly update phone calls would turn to monthly update phone calls. Finally, there were no phone calls. We called them over and over again. Sometimes we would get through and they would make us re-send all financial documents over and over again. I lost track of how many times I had to send them financial documents. Our bank has sent us a letter stating that they are unable to modify our loan. It's been a year and half since we filed with the Modification Group. There is no loan modification, no more phone calls. We cannot contact them nor do they contact us. There is no refund and they have all of our financial records. Upon research, its obvious that this company is a bunch of scam artists and need to be delt with. Not only did they rip us off, but I've learned they have also ripped off over 90 other people or families of their hard earned money. My wife and I have filed a complaint with the Ohio Attorney General's office. They gave us a complaint number as they have filed a lawsuit against the Modification Group. Whether we get our money back or not, I hope justice is done. Anyone can find out about this lawsuit by looking online. Just type (TMG lawsuit) in a search engine and you can read all about it. Thank you Ohio Attorney General for helping us with this matter.
