On 8/30/2011 I purchased a "Samsung Galaxy Tablet 10.1 32GB" from Tiny Tablets LLC over the internet, at their website at (since then, they closed this website; another website appeared at , with very similar content). The price advertized at that time was $450.00 + S&H (at $12.00) (at the time of this writing, the advertized price is $350.00 + S&H). At about $150 (25%) below the market price, this was definitely very attractive! Today's advertized price provides an even steeper discount (approx. 42% below market price, or Amazon), which would make many others fall into their trap! My order was acknowledged by email, and I received a receipt of the order by email; it even had an order #. The only payment option offered was for me to send the amount via Western Union or MoneyGram. I chose the first, and sent the money on 8/31/2011 (by Western Union to an address in Destin, FL). Western Union acknowledged that the recipient cashed in the amount of $462. I received a PO from TinyTablets by email, as a PDF attachment, for that amount. By email, I was told several times that the item will be shipped by FedEx overnight on 8/31, for 9/1 delivery. So far almost everything seemed to be professionally handled and legit. Things however were about to unexpectedly turn into a completely different direction... On 8/31 I asked for a tracking # (by email and by phone). Even though I was promised one both by email and by phone, I never received one. In fact, I received no communication until 9/2 when the tune changed entirely: I was told that I would have to order a quantity of at least 5 from them; they would not ship 1 item, according to their "Corporate policy." Yet their order form, their communications to me, their PO, everything allowed quantity 1 until they had to deliver. I got the typical "my boss won't let me ship quantity 1." This is after I paid THEIR invoice for quantity 1!! When I asked them to either deliver the order OR wire the money back, via Western Union, immediately, they started telling me that it would take 21 business days for the money back, again according to the "Corporate policy" which had never been posted on the website. I emailed back that it was unacceptable, especially since they simply refused to deliver the product they took the order for, got them payment for, accepted both, had no back-order issues, and continued to sell on their website (even currently). At the time of this filing, it's been 15 days since my order, and still no communication as to whether they are "processing my refund," or how I am going to get my money back, when, etc. Nothing. |
