My son googled MEADOWBROOK Pavillion to order Wiz Khalifa tickets. The first result appears as MEADOWBROOK-Great Seats at Meadowbrook Pavillion with the web address: us-cellular.pavillionboxoffice.com. He went to the website which has a banner across the top which reads Meadowbrook Pavillion Tickets. He went to Wiz Khalifa concert and the seating chart appears so he selected the section and best available choice by making two clicks with the mouse. He is given Row 9 seats 1-2 at $112 per seat which seemed very high because Meadowbrook seldom has tickets more expensive than $60 for reserved seating but Wiz Khalifa is very popular and Meadowbrook is an incredibly small venue so he legitimately thought the tickets were this expensive. He had no idea that this website was not the official Meadowbrook venue website because the seating selection is similar to the real website. He ordered 2 tickets and was never suspicious. When he printed out the purchase receipt it became painfully obvious that he didn't order the tickets from the official Meadowbrook website. The total price for two tickets after fees and additional mailing expenses amounted to $280.44. The official Meadowbrook website does add on similar fees but not an additional $35 per ticket! I nearly had an anxiety attack. I was worried that our credit card was given to thieves. I emailed [email protected] to cancel this order. The email was never delivered because the address is not valid. I then emailed [email protected] and emailed them a letter explaining that the purchase was made in error. This purchase was supposed to made from the official Meadowbrook website, where we always order online tickets. I called three different phone numbers 1800 444-7464, 1 860 875-1892, and 1 866-614-4183. I talked to very rude young women who flat out told me there's absolutely no refunds and that maybe I should have been smarter when ordering online. It was not her fault I was dumb and couldn't read. She asked me if I would like for her to read the small print to me right now over the phone! I have been so upset by the conversations that I have lost sleep! I did receive an email back telling me that they could list my tickets for sale for a 10% fee on a friendly website they assured me was safe. RIGHT! I BET! I would also bet that they own this website and are more than happy to charge you 10% to sell them to the next fool. When I explained to the woman that we purchased two tickets for $280.44 which were sold as row 9 seats 1-2 VIP and that I went to the official Meadowbrook website and this concert is GENERAL ADMISSION for $30 and Lawn seating for $25 and that tickets for this concert are not even available to the public until April 20th, she said she needed to go to the website and verify this information. She then said she would let me speak to her manager. I was hopeful that she would refund my money. She transferred me to a manager who refused to refund my money again. Within 15 minutes, the company went onto their website and lowered all ticket prices by half on April 15 then they were listed at $66 on April 17, eliminated the VIP seating two days later and then added new small print to the website which stated that they were a ticket broker above the seating chart. Those were not on the website the prior evening when my son ordered the tickets. I went to the exact website where he ordered those tickets and that information was not in plain sight. It very well might have been in the small agreement information when he gave them our credit card information but at that time we had no reason to suspect this was not the real venue website. Luckily I printed out the guaranteed Row 9 seats 1-2 receipt which they emailed to me. As a consumer I want to know what my rights are? I called my credit card company to dispute this purchase and to suspend the payment to this company. Ticketsplus sold me a lie since this event does not offer reserved seating. Also I did make every effort to resolve the problem with the company and they clearly laughed at me when I asked for a refund. We purchased the tickets April 14 and the concert isnt until July 27th. In my opinion I provided them plenty of time to resell the tickets which they don't even have possession of until they go on sale April 20th! I also would like to argue that it is very deceptive to pose as the offical venue website. As a consumer, I feel I have made every effort and should be refunded. If anyone else has had a similar experience, I beg you to notify the better business bureau and to let other consumers know. Post your experience on facebook and email a warning to all of your friends. If Ticketplus contacts me and offers me a refund or agrees to adjust the amount I have been charged, I will post a comment as soon as it happens. What a sad situation! |
