August 8th 2011 My name is Barry Cohen and I live in Durango Colorado. Approximately one year ago I purchased 15 Wedco PLASTIC gas-fuel cans from Wal-Mart. Today on August 8th 2011 I needed to use my gas-fuel can containers only to find that the expandable pour spouts on every single fuel can was deteriorated causing gasoline to leak from the gaping holes on the defective pour spouts. Now I will have to use a funnel to remove and dispose the fuel that is contaminated from the melted plastic pour spouts now mixed in with the 75 gallons of fuel. I looked up Wedco online to find out that Wedco gas-fuel cans are really manufactured by a company called The Plastics Group World Headquarters. The Plastics Group World Headquarters has locations at 7409 South Quincy Street in Willowbrook IL 60521-5590 and at 2101 Cedar Street in Freemont Ohio. 43420 I called the Plastic Group World Headquarters (Wedco) in Willowbrook IL to explain the problems and to ask them to make good for sticking me with 15 defective fuel cans and contaminated fuel. When I called to explain the problems I now face they admitted that the spouts on these gas-fuel cans were indeed defective! However they also told me that since my fuel storage cans were discontinued about three years ago, they would not make good for their negligence in any way even though I purchased them from Wal-Mart stock after they were discontinued. I again asked them to make good for their negligence of producing and selling these defective gas-fuel tanks. I gave them the choice to replace the fuel spouts, replace the entire gas-fuel tanks or to reimburse me $150.00 for the cost of the 15 tanks. As of right now I did not ask them to cover the costs of getting rid of the 75 gallons of contaminated fuel and replacing it! However I will demand to recover these additional costs if I am not given proper customer service on this day of Aug 8th 2011. Again they refused to do anything at all to help me with this major problem! I asked the man in management on the phone for his name but he refused to provide it to me. And when I told him that I would expose the Plastic Group World Headquarters (Wedco) terrible customer service to the BBB in Willowbrook IL and Fremont OH, The EPA, The FTC and to the entire world through the many dozens of scam reporting websites causing this letter to pop up all over the internet with searches for their products and company name he told me to go ahead and do it! So I am now making good on my word to expose this product manufacturing negligence and total lack of customer service by the Plastic Group World Headquarters. I will continue to post these facts all over the Internet until they make good for my loss! Barry Cohen----Durango Colorado |
