The DUMP in Irving, TX Crappy furniture in a dirty warehouse full of uneducated, illiterate idiots who haven't a clue how to treat a customer. Irvin |

I should have known when we walked in and the first chair that I sat in was broken. But, we ignored it and kept shopping so we accept some of the responsibility because we are idiots for not walking out right then and there. After weaving through the unorganized maze of crappy furniture. I must admit that I found a living room set that looked exactly like I wanted. We had been searching for quite a while so against our better judgement, we went for it. The actual purchase took forever but we finally bought a sofa and two chairs. We loved it for the first couple of weeks. We spent a lot of money on the living room set but sadly it didn't even hold up for a year! We made the purchase in April 2010 and within a year the cushions were sagging. The leather is stretched so bad in the seats that the furniture looks like it's 10 years old. This is not normal wear but the DUMP says it is. The customer service department is full of people who can't spell their own names let alone spell mine. They are rude and give the impression that they are there to turn your request for help down as fast and as rudely as they possibly can. They said that I would need to contact the manufacturer. I did, same story "normal wear". The Guardian warranty that we purchased was our next option and it worked okay when I got a stain that couldn't be removed on both chairs. After four months of fighting them, they agreed to replace the chairs but unfortunately the DUMP no longer carries the chairs that match my sofa so I had to go back to THE DUMP to pick out new ones. UGH!! After spending an afternoon fighting off salespeople so we could look around, we discovered that most of the chairs there were either broken or they are made by a company that is no longer in business. The DUMP is selling this "BERKLINE" company's leftovers but can't offer a warranty at all. Of course, you won't know that unless you ask. Long story short, I was forced to pick chairs that don't match so that I could get the hell out of there. I hate this store. I went to customer service to check out then on to the delivery desk. I was told by the idiot in delivery who could barely stay awake, that the next available delivery was Monday the 8th of August (today). We moved the old chairs to storage in 110 degree heat on Sunday to make room for the new ones and since I had a business meeting this morning, my husband arranged to take the morning off. The delivery folks were supposed to call Sunday night to schedule a time but they didn't... surprise surprise! This morning at 10am when they opened, he called them only to discover that they forgot to add us to the schedule. No apologies, no condolences just an email that said "We're sorry that your delivery wasn't scheduled for Monday as you requested. Unfortunately, up until you receive the call from the delivery department to provide the time frame, your delivery date is not guaranteed." The next possible delivery date is Saturday the 13th. so now we're stuck with no furniture in the living room except one sofa until Saturday )if they remember to add us to the list). Someone needs to do something about this place. This should not be allowed to happen to good people! |
