The Crazee Cindy Show Comics Beware! All that glitters ain't gold! Los Angeles, California |

Because this show is produced at The World Famous Comedy Store, I automatically assumed that The Crazee Cindy Show was just a reputable as the comedy club. Well, I was completely wrong. Being green for sure as I haven't been performing stand up that long, I was at fault for assuming and perhaps not doing as much homework as I should. I asked around and was told by my local comedians that it's your typical bringer show but the cool part is that you get to perform on such a historic stage, which looks good on your resume. First and foremost Crazee Cindy does not know how to produce a show. She showed up late. The show started an hour late. Only the regular comics...her friends knew where they were on the line up. About 30-40 minutes into the show, I chased after her and demanded to know when I would be performing. It was towards the end of he show because I'd brought 10 people. Crazee Cindy is not a good host or performer. She is not funny at all. She tries to be like a Don Rickles or a Lisa Lampanelli but you have to be very skilled to be an effective insult comic. The audience must know that you are coming from a place of love. And well, it helps to be funny. She insulted every single member of my group and most people in the audience, which explains why several of them walked out and also put in complaints to management. Her insults were "stick a big black dick in your mouth and shut the fuck up" to an audience member who was an Italian looking woman on a date with her African American boyfriend. The woman wasn't heckling Cindee, but defending herself from a barrage of low-brow insults spit at her from Cindee. Certain comedians who came to the show only had a few of their people show up were asked to leave and told that they couldn't have stage time. This would have been fine, but they weren't told this until an hour into the show. Bottom line, this show takes advantage of new comedians and their fans. Be careful. |
