| This person representing himself as my long time so called friend lured me to Ellijay, GA with a promise to work with me to build me a home for my retirement years. When I got to Ellijay I worked with his realator and found a suitable property to build the home on. I put up the $14,000 for the initial purchase of the property which was to be repayed to me once Mr. Ellis converted the builders loan he secured into a regular mortgage. In addition to the monies I put up for the property I also was on site managing the sub contractors as the work was done, in addition I personally put in 500-600 labor hours doing some of the exterior building as well as doing all the interior trim work, tile work, hardwood floor installation, painting, and much, much more until the home was completed. From the period of 2007-2009 I resided in the home and made all the builders loan payments to the United Community Bank. During the period I resided in the home I continued to make significant improvement both inside and outside of the home. I also asked Mr. Ellis on several occasions about the repayment to me of the $14,000 I had put up for purchase of the land, always to be ignored by Mr. Ellis as later, later, later for payment. When I finally lost patience and demanded my money, then and only then did Mr. Ellis come up with this unbeleiveable story that the $14,000 I put up was a gift to him.....since this was all the money I had at the time and part of it I had to borrow the story was a lie and as things happen some people tell the same lie so often that they begin to beleive it themselves. This man is a "Crook", Dishonest, a "Con Man" and not to be trusted!!! My biggest mistake with this man was ever being friends with him in the first place and trusting him on a "handshake" deal. He is no better than a common thief and it is my understanding that he is also a convicted felon...which I wish I had know sooner!! |

Mr. Frizzell is correct that we were once friends. He is wrong about everything else. His statements are slanderous and I will deal with that outside of this forum. Several years ago, I helped my ‘friend’ when was going through a difficult divorce. He was financially distressed after his wife left him and he told me he had an enormous payment on the motor coach he was living in. He was facing a specific date to turn the vehicle in, at which point he would be homeless. His back was against the wall. I liked him and offered to let him move in with me and my family. He later asked me (and it was he who approached me) to help him purchase a trailer where he could live. He had poor credit and asked if I would be willing to sign for his mortgage (and assume all the associated risks and obligations) if he provided the $14, 000 down payment – with the understanding that he would live on the property during retirement but after his death I would take it over. He seemed appreciative of what I was willing to do for him. Initially, he made arrangements to pay the $14, 000 down payment directly to the owner of the trailer. But after my wife and I looked at it, we realized that it would soon need lots of repair.
Next, Dick and I discussed building a small cabin under the same arrangements. We agreed that he would pay $14, 000 to purchase the land, which would constitute a down payment on the loan. But the agreement was that I would build the house, and thereafter I would pay all the taxes, all the owner’s dues, and the insurance premiums, and would continue to do so – as long as Mr. Frizzell stayed in the house. This wasn’t such a great deal for me. It was my house, but I effectively had a tenant living in it rent-free for an indefinite period and all the continuing carrying charges. But we were friends and I never wavered from that commitment.
What happened next is that, after living in the house for two and a half years, Dick decided to leave. I never asked him to leave, or pressured him to do so. I was not even aware that he had left – he never gave me the courtesy of notifying me that the house was vacant. Apparently he fell upon even more difficult economic circumstances and figured maybe with a little creative memory, he could retroactively change our agreement and extract some money from me. His version now is that after 2 and ½ years of living for free, the money he paid is now a loan, and he wants me to pay him.
However, our agreement is our agreement. He received good value for the money – he lived rent-free for 2 and ½ years in a house! Under any reasonable rent, he has already received twice what he paid. And he would be living there today if he hadn’t revealed who he really is. I’m glad he’s gone, but I guess the campaign of slander is my payback for dealing with the guy.
One final point in response to his slander: I have never been convicted of a felony, I have never been convicted of a crime. His repayment of my concern with such statements is a disgrace and demonstrates precisely the sort of person I was dealing with. I am a businessman. I currently hold a fire arms license (which would be illegal for one convicted of a felony). I have tried to live my life honorably, and to fulfill my responsibilities to my family, friends and community. I regret the disagreement with Mr. Frizzell, but I am offended by his resort to the lowest of slanders in the obvious effort to obtain some concession from me. If that is what he anticipates, he has underestimated me. |

| All readers!!! You would be well not to believe anything this Ellis guy has to say...he has told the same lies about our business dealings for so long he now believes them himself. Mr. Ellis is a CON Man, a Liar and a common Thief that should be in jail for all the people he has put the screws to!!! If you trust this CROOK with your money you will soon be parted with it. He can deny all he wants to on here, but I have the proof that he is a "LIAR" AND A "CROOK"!! IF YOU COME TO ELLIJAY, GA STAY AWAY FROM THIS PHONEY!!! |

Also, what Mr. Ellis fails to tell everyone is that I personally put in over 600 hrs. of my time doing a lot of the work for "NO PAY" and while I lived in the home I paid "ALL" the monthly construction loan payments. My comments are not slander by any means...they are the "TRUTH" and the truth is what Ellis cannot accept.
Mr. Ellis does "NOT" live honorably as he claims and is an oportunist, professional liar, thief and con man!

| I am going to protect my reputation and family. I have nothing to hide.My life is an open book because of who I am and what I am. If I was a con man and a covicted felon I would have been ran out of Ellijay long ago. Remember I have been here 15 years and Mr. Frizzell has been here 3 years. This man is bitter because of his failed marriages and his life and now wants to make other peoples lives miserable. I feel sorry for the man and hates that he has to lie like this. We will have our day in court. My attorney is aware of Mr. Frizzell slanderous remarks. This will be my last respond to this mess. I will let the courts deal with this. You can say what you want Mr. Frizzell because I know who I am and the people of this town know me. You can spend the rest of your life slandering me if this makes you feel good. | Terry Ellis continues to make up lies about who he is and about his stealing the $14, 000 from me. I put up the funds in good faith and did over 600 hrs. of my own personal labor while Ellis pretended to be the big shot business man. Ellis is typical of someone who tells the same "LIES" over and over again until he believes them himslef. Make no mistake about it he is a "CON MAN" a "LIAR" and a common "THIEF" who befriends people only to take advantage of them down to their last penny!!! YOU WANT TO GO TO COURT ELLIS..."BRING IT ON THIEF"!!! He hides up here amoung honest hard working people because he can't get away with his con artist methods in the big city. MY ADVISE FRIENDS...DON'T DO ANY BUSINESS WITH THIS CON MAN!!! As far as god is concerned Ellis, you are the one that needs all the help you can get, posing as christian on Sunday but come monday your still a THIEF!!! You will suffer in hell Ellis!!! |
