Tenant Verified FALSE SERVICE CANNOT GET MONEY BACK Internet

I was looking for rentals for my family on craigslist. We came across a rental property and having dealt with several that did not have phone numbers but were still legit, we contacted this posting. They sent us an email back (having already seen pictures) telling us more about the property. It looked legit so when they asked us to run our background check to rent, we were naive enough to believe it was real. We went to the website, ran a check under two accounts, one for each of us since we were going to co-sign a lease. The charges were 39.95 each (2 of them) which posted to my bank account today. We never heard from them again. We searched the internet for Tenant Verified Scams and found a discussion forum that had a whole list of people that went through the same thing, saw the same pictures, saw the same form email and like me, never got in contact with them again. I tried to go on craigslist the next day when we found out but they had already taken down the posting. Now we are out $80 that my bank WON'T refund because I authorized the charge. ( I wouldn't have if I had known.) We are still trying to move and found a place, and are now short on paying off our furniture that we need because we don't have any. Nobody will help me and they wont answer the phone number that the bank gave me for them.
