14th of Nov, 2011 by User576356 |
I contacted Tax Masters and the promised me that they could assist wiith my Tax Issuess. I was pretty skeptical at first, because the Tax Masters' Rep was only with Tax Masters for 2 years. He was to create a file for me, make payment arrangements and also request my financial data information. I spoke to this person a couple of times and had paid $2,000 with a remaining balance of somewhere around $3,000+. I spoke once again regarding my financial data, which I NEVER sent in. As I mentioned earlier, I was pretty skeptical and decided to investigate and read the reviews for Tax Masters. If I knew what I found out, I would of avoided this company altogether! I sent a termination notice to the Tax Masters' Quality Assurance Department. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ This is what I sent: Tax Masters - Quality Assurance Dept 900 Town & Country Lane – Ste 400 Houston, Texas 77024 I am writing this letter to inform you that today, (date), I am terminating Tax Masters Services. I no longer wish to use your services for resolving my Income Tax Issues. I have read a number of complaints posted on the Better Business Bureau website that has well informed me of your services and was enough in making me decide to terminate services. On a Scale of A+ to F, Tax Masters has a rating of ‘F’ The factors that prompted my decision are as follows (from BBB Website) These factors lowered the rating for Tax Masters include the following: - 988 complaints filed against business - Failure to respond to 32 complaints filed against business - 355 complaints filed against business that were not resolved - Overall complaint history with BBB - Government action(s) against business - Business has failed to resolve underlying cause(s) of a pattern of complaints I’ve also read on the BBB Website that the Attorney Generals Office in Texas filed a complaint against a Houston-based Tax Firm Charged With Unlawful Conduct Misleading Customers. I believe this was released May 13, 2010. That Tax Firm is/was Tax Masters. https://www.oag.state.tx.us/oagnews/release.php?print=1&id=3328 I’m not sure if the above claim has been resolved, but my decision to terminate Tax Masters services stands. In addition, after speaking to the two Tax Master Associates, I wasn’t very confident that my issue(s) would be resolved. I was expecting an associate to have more than 2 or 3 years experience and be more knowledgeable in answering my questions. Also, I have made payments, which had been withdrawn from my account. I would like to have these payments funded back to me IN FULL and a confirmation stating there will not be anymore withdrawals by Tax Master taken from my bank accounts. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ I received an email the following day: This is to confirm that we have received your cancellation request. We are sorry to hear that you want to cancel the services you have engaged us to perform. After the review of your file by the quality assurance representative assigned to your case, if a refund is determined, it will be forwarded to our finance department to process your refund. This process can take up to 60 days to review and we ask for your patience. We will contact you by mail with a determination letter notifying you of your status. Remember, your tax problem is serious and will not go away on its own. We stand by willing and able to resolve your tax problems. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to give us a call at 832-735-6046 ext 1150 or 887-668-8082 ext 1150. You can also contact us by email at [email protected]. Best regards, TaxMasters Quality Assurance Department ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ I had called repeatedly, left voice messages and also sent emails to try to contact Tax Masters for 2 weeks. I finally got thru to them, not because they answered, but I went thru another department. They said they sent me a letter declining any refund. However, the ONLY letter I received was a registered letter from a Tax Master representative asking me to forward my financial data so they can continue working on my issues. The registered letter was sent to me the first week of November, 2011!!! My account was CLOSED in September, 2011!! I just received word that I will not be receiving a refund! Total BS! Tax Masters Did absolutely NOTHING for me! They didn't have time to do anything for me because I did some researching and found out the company is a Big SCAM! I want my money back!

We won't get our money back but it would be satisfying to see all three of the company's top guys in jall. What Patrick Cox, Fred Hackett and DeWayne Logan did to a lot of hurting people who came to them for help is criminal. |
