My cell phone service runs from the 8th to the 8th of each month. On December 29, 2010, T-Mobile added $4.97 to my bill and then disconnected my service for non-payment!!! I paid my bill in FULL on 12-6-10 for the month of December through the 8th of January 2011. They said it was an insurance premium on my upgrade...WHAT UPGRADE!!! I haven't had an upgrade since February of this year! Then, when I finally got them to reconnect my service (24 minutes waiting to talk to someone, then put on hold for over 26 minutes the first time, and 35 minutes the second time, they deducted 200 minutes from my monthly whenever minutes and said it was because my service had been SUSPENDED FOR NON-PAYMENT. I am through with T-Mobile Non-Cell phone Service. 1. The service is spotty, if I turn my head the wrong way; even in public, the call gets dropped. 2. The customer service is lousy, very few of the agents even speak English, and if they do, their English is so poor you can barely understand them. 3. The waiting time to get a service specialist (that term for these people is an oxymoron) is usually more than half an hour. If you have to call them, you have to make sure you can sit very still for a very long period of time. If you move and the call is dropped...you have to start all over again from the bottom! 4. They routinely deduct my whenever minutes for insufficient usage WTH? I have the whenever minutes as part of my service and if I do not use them in a manner that is considered by them a timely manner they steal them back...a few times this has caused my flex pay minutes to have to be used. Flex pay minutes are prepaid time that is purchased separately from your monthly service; like a tracfone or prepaid cell phone. This ends up costing me in excess of $25.00 each time it happens. 5. When I first activated my service, the sales rep. offered us unlimited Data usage for $24.99 per month. When my account qualified for an upgrade, I upgraded to a Blackberry. They told me that the data service for Blackberry had to be prepaid for 2 months in advance, so I paid it. Then, the guy tells me, Oh, it looks like you've been paying for smart phone data since you started your service! I said Really? But I have never had a smart phone. As it turns out, they'd been charging my account $24.99 per month for service that should have only cost me $9.99 per month. When I sat down and added up the total OVER payment, it was more than $175.00. At first they refused to reimburse me for this...after threatening them with calling the BBB and the FCC and the FTC, T-Mobile credited the over payment to my phone bill. It took nearly 6 months to recoup that mistake from them, however. In short, if you are seeking cell phone service, and you have bad marks on you credit report that will force you to pay $750.00 to $1000.00 for Sprint, AT&T, or US Cellular; pay the money and go with a more well established company. T-Mobile is based in India, they treat their customers as Cash Cows and their service is not worth the price or the headaches you will endure. And, they are a huge scam. |
