ABF Freight Systems, Inc Upack, ABFS Failed to Deliver my Furniture Shipment. Worst Shipping Company EVER. Jefferson, Louisiana

We hired ABF to deliver a shipment of furniture from Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin directly to our home in New Orleans. ABF did not deliver the shipment to our house. Instead they delivered it to their terminal in Jefferson, LA. They refused to bring the shipment to our house, claiming that the streets were too narrow. On an already tight schedule, I was forced to hire movers, rent a Uhaul, and come pick up my shipment from their terminal... load it into a truck... and then deliver and unload it AGAIN at my home. This cost me approx $500 and took several hours. I also strained my back in the process. When I arrived at the ABF terminal, I found my furniture parked in an UNLOCKED trailer outside their gates (a major theft risk). The unloading ramp in the trailer was BROKEN and USELESS making the unloading of several large items (a refridgerator, washer, dryer, etc.) extremely dangerous and difficult. I am extremely upset with the service I was provided by ABF. They caused me trouble at every turn. The most important issue is their failure to deliver my shipment to my home as promised. They also promised to refund my credit card the difference between the "Home" delivery rate and the cheaper "Terminal" delivery rate (approx $400). As of today, 9/29/11 I have not received this refund. I want the entire $1,416.00 that we paid ABF for our shipment refunded. All of it. I have filed a BBB complaint and have not received a response. ABF did not provide the promised service and caused me a lot of hassles and trouble and cost me a lot of extra money. I would never have hired them to provide "Terminal" delivery. I needed this shipment delivered to my home. ABF is the worst shipping/moving company I have ever worked with.
