Sweet Iron Farm Kara Hoefer KARA HOEFER - LIAR/ HORSE ABUSE! SHE MUST BE STOPPED! Swansea, South Carolina |
27th of Apr, 2011 by User415527 |
We purchased a horse from Kara Hoefer of Sweet Iron Farm in Swansea, SC several months ago. We purchased the horse on the contingency that the horse would receive 30 days of "professional" training ("natural horsemanship")before the horse left her farm. She also promised that if we did not like the horse, that she would refund our money. When we arrived 30 days later to pick-up our new horse, we found the horse terrified, very thin, and covered in bites. The horse was abnormally nervous, and very hard to load. Once he arrived at his new home, we realized that Kara did nothing but starve and beat the horse. She obviously did not feed him at all over the 30 days, and her "training techniques" are both barbaric, and cruel. After 2 weeks, we decided that we could not deal with the horse's issues anymore, and we asked for a refund as she promised. She never returned our phone calls or emails, and now we are stuck with a crazy horse. Buyers & clients beware of Kara Hoefer and Sweet Iron Farm. Kara is a liar, with no real credintials who mistreats her horses. I would advise ANYONE thinking of doing business with her to think long and hard before doing it. I hope this report will help someone not make the same mistake that we did. |

I too have been a victim of Kara Hoefer of Sweet Iron Farm in Swansea, SC. This woman is a complete liar, and will tell you whatever you want to hear in order to make a sale. She buys horses at auctions and off websites like "craigslist" and markets them as "having had them for years." You cannot believe a word she says. All of her "biography" on her website is untrue. She is not gifted with horses, and from what I can tell, she is scared of them. She acts like she is some type of horse-whisperer, which is very comical. It's very obvious that she is self-taught with no formal training. She is a typical horse-trader who will do whatever it takes to make a sale. I purchased a horse from her a few months ago, and I have done nothing but regret my decision to buy from her. The horse was completely falsely represented, and she promised to refund my money if I had any problems. Well, I had problems, and no refund. I cannot even get a call-back. She has been up to no good for a long time. It's time that she be stopped. I am now stuck with a no-good horse I cannot ride. I guess this is just another notch in Kara's belt. Any buyer should think long and hard before buying anything from this woman. |
