I was shopping online, looking for a store that would sell "authentic Ray Bans" for a discounted price. I came across the website called... wholesalebrandsunglass.com ...titled, SunglassWorld on the site. The prices were good for most of the products, some Ray Bans were around $80 and others over $200. Everything looked like it checked out. I couldn't find many reviews, but the ones I saw were good! Very first off I contacted the company to talk about how they did business, and how they had lower than retail prices on their glasses. I talked for several weeks to get to know them and hopefully birth a good business relationship. I asked SEVERAL times about the authenticity of their products. and SEVERAL times I was assured that what they were selling me was great genuine Ray Ban products. I am a Collector of brand-name sunglasses. Ray Ban being one of my specialties, and was excited for the chance to get some for a decent price! The site used stock photos and accurate descriptions of the glasses I was thinking about buying. And the model numbers and color choices, and combination's were all accurate with the official Ray Ban website. They said that their HQ's were in the USA, while they're warehouse was in Hong Kong So, after several weeks of contacting the site and finalizing how payment would be dealt with (through PayPal), I ordered me a pair of Tortoiseshell Ray Ban Wayfarer 2140s for I believe around $70 total. I waited for not much more than a week before my package arrived. Everything was looking great! until I opened the package... I opened the Wrapping to be very disappointed by a very cheap pair of OBVIOUS, fake, plastic Ray Ban knockoffs! everything was wrong with them. plastic (RB Wayfarers are made of Acetate). Painted logos (RB is printed on). A right-angle from the legs to the lenses (RB have a large slant to them). Brand name was glued on the side (not screwed in, or set in the frame). The Hinge was a cheap, general, 3 layer hinge glued to the frame (not the high quality, 7 barrel hinge, set in, and screwed to RB frames). Very upset with getting ripped off, I immediately contacted the site about my faulty order. we had a VERY long conversation in which they continuously made excuses and acted confused about how it could be that I received fakes from their site. I have done my research and was able to pin them down on several issues that they tried to convince me on. I even sent them pictures of the glasses that they sent me compared to the same model that I own, bought straight through Ray Ban. which they ignored completely. They continued on to try and sell me multiples of other fakes from there site. they even said that if I actually wanted the ones that I ordered then it would cost me ANOTHER $120! I was fed up and eventually just ended the conversation saying that i was very very upset and that I would be reporting their site soon. since then I have received one email from them, saying that they are confused and sorry for any problems. and to ease my unhappiness with the company, they are willing to give me a.....5% refund....5%. thats just over $3!! I havent responded because I dont know even what to say to something that absurd! I would like all of my money back. and for this company to stop ripping people, like myself, off. If someone can please help me...Thank you |
