Success Express
Success Express, Inc scam? Don't trust after reading reports. Canceling order - Gig Harbor, Washington
5th of May, 2011 by User112239
I had 2 guys, probably in their early 20s knock on my door this afternoon after I got off work. They asked what I did for a living, if I liked it, where I grew up and went to school, made basic convo. Then they told me about this contest they were in to win a trip to Europe and $5000 for whatever they wanted. It was a points based contest and they had to sell magazines to get points. They went on to tell me that 600 some other kids in this age group were also doing this and they were in 6th place at the time. They asked which magazines I liked and what my interests were, I told them and they said they had these magazines that I might be interested in and that at $1-2 per issue I could a subscription and help them in this contest at the same time. So I did, I ordered 2 subscriptions and they gave me 1 complimentary, so all-in-all I would have been getting 2, 2 year and 1, 3 year subscriptions to well-known magazines for something like $130 dollars, not a bad deal. I gave them my name, and address because they said I would be mailed a comment card and stuff to fill out for more points. After they left I started thinking, I've never heard about anything like this in my area (North Dakota) and googled the company, bringing me straight to this site. After reading all the other reports on this company and their affiliate magazine distribution company, and checking out their website to see that the address on my receipt and address on the website don't match I gave them a call. They tried to tell me that the 19-20 some reports on here were all just mix-ups and mis-informed consumers, so I asked them to inform me on what really happened to the $100s worth of magazines that were never delivered and why a former employee even reported them as a fraud. The lady promptly told me I had to talk to a supervisor and there I sat, on hold for the next 35 minutes. Figuring this was just their way around me asking questions I hung up. I am urging people to avoid buying from this company and if young adults come knocking trying to sell magazines for a contest, like your elementary kids do, ask them the questions and don't let them sweet talk you into buying this stuff. It seems like a good cause and I'm sure they all seem as nice and genuine as the 2 standing on my porch did. Just beware.
