StubHub StubHub Allows for Broker Loophole which drives prices down Internet, Internet

First, let me say that I have used StubHub in the past and have been very happy. But today I found out that they allow a loophole which potentially lets brokers screw average Joe's and Janes like us. I put tix on the site today for the Big 10 Championship game. I noticed that some guy "dumped" 12 seats in the same section for about half the price that everyone else was listing. That seemed strange- could understand someone wanting to get rid of a couple right away but this didn't fit. As I dug into the post I found out that no seat numbers were listed AND the tickets wouldn't be available until Thursday- two days before the game. So you might ask why someone would take the risk of listing tickets he didn't own right? I mean someone could actually purchase them. And therein lies the rub! You can cancel your posting EVEN AFTER SOMEONE BUYS THE TICKETS!!!! You can do so up to 48 hours after the purchase. In the meantime Mr. Broker or whomever has brilliantly driven the price of the tickets down and purchases tickets in the same section to resell on the street or wherever. The worst part? When I called StubHub they admitted that they know this goes on but won't do anything about it. StubHub- demand seat numbers and proof of ownership. Can understand for season tix but really, this is VERY lame.
