Star Entertainment Lefteris and Laura Choriambus Scam Agency not paying and bullying Entertainers Pafos, Other |

I worked for Star entertainment from the 6th of November until 20 December and received no pay. In the end after over six weeks and no pay I left and returned to England. I am owed over 1500 euros. I was also told the accommodation would have all amenities but the shower did not work and there was no cloth’s washing machine. The first apartment I had was filthy with cockroaches. I was also supposed to get at least 20 euros for petrol for travel to gigs but after 3 weeks they stopped giving this. My return travel was also supposed to be paid on completion of contract but as I had not been paid in over 6 weeks I left and had to pay my own return flight. This apparently has happened to many other staff, it appears they are running a scam at the expense of English artists. The owners of Star Entertainment Lefteris and Laura Choriambus (formerly of agency: Laura & Lefteris Entertainment Ltd)apparently change the name of there agency regularly when things get sticky and carry on operating under a different name. Apart from not getting payed 1500 euros owed I spent over Ј400 in travel and over Ј1000 in lost gigs earnings I could have made in England . It’s no fun gigging 5 nights a week for 6 weeks and not getting paid as we all have bills to pay and need money to live. This is a cruel abuse of artists in a foreign country. I would also add there are reports of female artists complaining of no pay and being hit by Lefteris and thrown immediately out of there accommodation. These are two very nasty evil professional conmen/scammers who claim on there website they look after there staff which is very far from the truth. Just ask around any bars in Paphos and Coral beach they are well known for there scam of not paying employees and spending there profits on properties while unpaid employees struggle to get back home to there country. |

My son was also bullied harassed and threatened within the first day of arriving to paphos to work for this company.. He arrived via an agency in London Glitz and Glam who promised him that the accommodation was 'perfect' and working conditions were great...boy was he in for a schock!! He had to share a room in filthy accommodation whilst in the other room lived his 'boss' who seemed to be some kind of incompetent oaf who screamed at him for laughing happily with his roommate. He was put to work immediately after landing from a five hour flight and wasn't excused to eat until later that evening. My son is a clever guy and realised things were definitely not right. He got on to the agency straight away and they didn't seem interested in helping him at all which also set off another red flag. The following day, he worked three hours overtime and had no instructions as to what his work would be until he was standing in front of people and he felt completely humiliated. He also was not introduced to any other members of staff and was also not told the address of his accommodation. He was also not given a key to his accommodation so after his full first day of work which ended around midnight he had to wander the streets on Paphos alone waiting for his boss to return from a party so he could get into the apartment!!! He was exhausted from lack of sleep and hadn't even been able to unpack yet as he had been working nonstop since arrival. He had a day off the following day and as he was starting to realise that complaining to the agency thousands of miles away would not do any good in the situation he was in he decided to leave quietly. This is where things actually started to get worse!! He began to get threatening intimidating emails from the agency in London accusing him of stealing costumes and not fulfilling a contract and was threatened with the police!!! His parents were messaged (myself) and told he had gone 'missing in the middle of the night' and was in breach of his contract. He could have been dead and all they cared about was his contract (which obviously set off a red flag to us as well!!). He went to the hotel himself to explain he hadn't stolen any costumes and he was sorry but he had to leave when he was approached by the 'boss' Lucien who threatened to call police and security and assaulted him in the street!!! They obviously have a lot to hide and please do not let anyone you know work for Star Entertainment run by Lefteris Charalambous in Paphos or the agency Glitz and Glam in London!!!
My son is still in Paphos and we actually are in fear of his safety but are also very proud that he is not letting these people intimidate him into leaving. He was given a friendly tip off upon arrival that three people had been and gone the previous week so my son would have been the fourth person to walk out while they could in one week. |
