Not only have I served our country overseas, I was born here in America and I've been in business a long time here. I've owned multiple stores and more recently Im dealing with more internet businesses. I found what I thought to be a cool new app for my android phone called "Square Up" where I can take credit card payment over the phone First sign of a scam was NO PHONE NUMBER OR ADDRESS of business. You cannot track this company down once they STEAL your information, which they will do!!! The reason the may seem legit is because they process small transaction with ease <$50. Anything above that WATCH OUT!!! A friend, and business associate of mine, partnered up to do some online work. He paid me $1000 using my SquareUp App. As soon as I entered the amount, I got basically an auto response saying My account is flagged due to fraud because I did not send a receipt. Thanks-Risk Management Team I was blown away So then I sent an email back saying, lets rectify this, there is a misunderstanding, this is not fraud, this is a friend of mine and we can both verify whatever nformation you need. NO RESPONSE. Days and a few emails later An email saying You are not authorized for this transaction-You keyed the entry in I told them Yes I did key it in my friend gave me his CC# over the phone. NO RESPONSE. Days and emails later I even send them a receipt signed from my friend, my friend tries to email them and gets no response. Then I get a response: saying Explicit consent to authorize your customer's card which substantiates that your client agrees to the services you are rendering. What is more explicit then a signed receipt? NOW FOR THE WORST PART!!! My friend and I have both requested a refund of the money. And NO RESPONSE!!!! THIS COMPANY IS A SCAM who holds money to gain interest on their account, similar to PayPal, but PayPal always gives you the money We are filing a class action lawsuit so if you would like in, please contact us and we will include your name on the lawsuit. Thank You. which once they no you hve money in your account, they will do.

I would like to as well. I took a credit card payment over the phone and now they are saying the person is requesting a charge back. I sent them a detailed email showing proof that the work/service were performed and then I get an email saying they are taking the money from my checking account. They didn't even listen to my email. They couldn't have because there was no time in between when I sent it and when they responded. It's horrible.

I have been using Square since March 2011, I have been processing until Nov 2011. Never had a payment held, never had a problem until Nov 18, 2011, they are holding a transaction i did for $7.41 and i have done larger transactions over 200.00 and never had issues. This card was an AMEX on 11-18-2011 and I dont know if thats why they held it, it was my first AMEX i ever ran with them

They did have a phone number of 415-375-3176, I called it 50 times a day and got through most of the time and they would always say " thier finance team has to look into my account and see why there is a hold " and now all of sudden on 12-04-2011 the number is no longer in service, it worked on Friday Dec 2, 2011, I am led to believe its a scam, i filed a complaint with BBB

Square is holding over 35 thousand dollars on our Company account, they say for 90 days. Who knows if we will EVER get it.

There have been 70 complaints file with the San Francisco BBB alone in the past 12 months.

YES, use this company if you can AFFORD to HAVE YOUR FUNDS HELD INDEFINITELY AT THEIR WHIM.

They just assume this is O.K. No problem, we don’t need the 35k that we worked so hard for to pay our bills. PLEASE! I have heard from MANY customers who have experienced the same thing.

If you are reading this, chances are you too have had a problem. Report them to the Following: States Attorney General in California AND your own State (do both), and the BBB.

They need to be STOPPED!

Wish I had seen this before I used them. They have canceled my account and won't tell me why and are holding over $1200 for a wedding cake I did! for 90 days.they asked me to verify my acct and I did I sent them a copy of my business license and all the things they asked for. I have a storefront for Gods sakes! I doubt I will ever see the money. [email protected]
