We purchased 2 Skystream 3.7 Wind Turbines from an Authorized Dealer found on Southwest Windpower's website; turn-key, product & installation. They never worked as advertised and Southwest Windpower fired the Dealer. The company's Tech Staff took over to resolve the problems and sent several dealers & Master Dealer to work on the two Skystreams. None could resolve leveling and production problems. The Company sent out their TX Representative in late 2010. He promised that the Company would resolve issues "even if it meant moving one of our towers". On 1-19-11, he came and lowered one of our towers onto the ground where it remains today. He made an offer which we 'basically' accepted except for clarification on a few issues. The next thing that happened was a knock on our door by Southwest Windpower's attorney. He was very intimidating us and even threatened to sue us. A week later we received an email from this attorney with another vague proposal. We responded positively, but asked for clarification. He did not respond, but within a few days we received an email from the attorney with a copy of a Complaint filed against us. They are using as a basis for this law suit some YouTube Videos I took for the sole purpose of trying to assist the many dealers/Master dealer, etc. that Southwest Windpower sent to work on our wind turbines. As they would leave, I took these videos to show them how the turbines were performing. Unfortunately, they were always performing badly. Some of my videos were taken at the request of those who came to work on them. Even thkough we could not afford to do so, we retained a local attorney because we were scared and knew nothing else to do. We have since dismissed him because we simply can't afford his $225/hr. fees. We're retired (75 and 70 y/o), on fixed income of S.S. and interest income from our life's savings. Believing Southwest Windpower's claims that ONE Skystream 3.7 would save us from 30-80% on our electric bill, we decided to use $30,000 of our savings to purchase 2 Skystreams. For a more complete and detailed account of our dilemma, please visit this site: http://b-d.ranch.tripod.com/twoskystream37installationsgonewrong/ All we've ever wanted or expected from Southwest Windpower is two wind turbines that stand straight and tall and level and perform as promoted and advertised by the company. |
