Illegitimate company practices
21st of Jan, 2013 by User17647
This is a collection agency that seems to operate outside of local and federal laws. I received calls from them after 9pm at night on multiple occasions. I have "pressed 2" on their automated message to let them know that I am not the person they are trying to reach. They continued to call. I finally connected with an actual person, in order to let them know that I am not the person they are trying to reach. I asked for their company information, and not only did they refuse to give me the information, they hung up on me. So I went ahead and called back until I got a company name, as well as the name of the woman who had been calling me (her name is Trisha). I asked to speak to a manager or supervisor, and was told that there wasn't one there. So I called back again 30 minutes later and got hold of someone who would connect me to the manager. At this point, he was on a call, and I had the option of leaving my number so he could call me back. No thank you, I'll wait on the line. I was finally connected with a Ron Martan (Martin?), who told me that "pressing 2" wouldn't cut it, and that they had done nothing wrong. When I filled him in on the situation, and let him know that I was significantly irritated with his "company", he began to patronize me, saying that "he had been in the business long before I was even born". Well, I've been "in the business" for 30 years, and I happen to know the standard operating procedures. We spoke for another few minutes, and I feel that I really stressed the importance of him never calling my home again. When I searched for the information of the phone number that had been calling me, I discovered that the number was registered to a dead woman, and linked to a P.O. box in Shawnee, OK. Interesting. The major complaint that I have with this company is that they refused to identify themselves when I asked, hung up on me repeatedly when I started asking questions about the company, and were so rude and patronizing towards me when I got angry as a result of their lack of professionalism. It took some digging to find their company website, which actually operates out of North Carolina. Here's the website: http://sourcerm.com/

A wrong number is a human mistake that can be resolved in 30 seconds. When they continue to call, it turns into harassment. I should not have to call repeatedly and get angry in order for them to stop calling me. This company needs to re-train their employees to handle customers in a better way, especially Trisha, who is clearly some kind of high school dropout who does not know how to act like a professional.
