Sir/Madam:

I would like to share my Toyota experience with you.

I have enjoyed the service Toyota has provided and my adviser is truly wonderful. Recently I felt uneasy about some of the cost I have endured. Because of such feelings I have started second guessing, which I have never done before. I have been a loyal customer to the Toyota organization for over 20 years. My husband and I purchased our first in 1985. We have been hooked evry since. I have driven nothing else. The maintenance and the service have been outstanding. We had one vehicle for 12 years, 187,000 miles. That is why I was sad when Thursday I was quoted the following : Replacement of Front Brakes $200+ Fuel Induction Service $ 80+ Clean Fuel Induction $ 80+ Alien Wheel $ 80+ (The above is not the actual cost quoted. The prices quoted were much higher.) Midas quoted me $89 for replacement of front brakes. It gets even more complicated. I took my car to Midas on Saturday and told them my front brakes had 2mm. I left my car and returned in approximately an hour. I was informed that my breaks were fine, I just needed some brake fluid which was very low. They could not understand why my break light was not on. Do you have the answer to that? Why did Toyota think that my brakes had 2mm? Would Toyota have replaced my brakes when they did not need replacing? I was informed that the manufacture does not require that I get fuel inductions service. I was told by Midas just put the fuel induction in my gas tank before filling up my gas tank; it was not something I should worry about unless my car starts “sputtering”. Can you explain why Toyota South was willing to take almost $500 from me when it was not necessary? Midas even took care of the brake fluid free of charge. Something about the situation makes me feel sad and sick. I feel like perhaps I have paid for things in the past that I did not need. I have been a trusted customer of Toyota and it saddens me to think that the organization has not been honest.

Special Note:

I have had several other complaints in the past and been given questionable advise however up until now my opinion was that I can not do any better than having my car serviced by Toyota. I opted not to complain because my adviser was such a wonder person. But now I feel that it is in my best interest not to deal with Toyota if mistakes like this are going to happen. If you care to render me an explanation I would truly appreciate it.

Toyota South’s accreditation has been revoked because of unsolved complaints.
