Signet Financial Group Gregg Lehman, President of Signet Financial Will not refund our purchase price for warranty, no one answers phone and they wont |
4th of May, 2011 by User967981 |
On April 2nd of 2007 we purchased an extended warranty for $1158 through Signet Financial Group. Per the contract we would be entitled to a full refund if it was not used. On April 2nd of 2011 our contract was up and to be eligible for a full refund I would need to contact them via paper letter asking for a refund within 30 days of contracts end date. Well I sent a certified letter to the address listed on the contract and Signet Financial Group never even picked it up. I am beyond the 30 days now and the certified letter is now back with me. I tried to call the telephone number but get no answer and a message saying their offices are closed. I also emailed the CEO, Gregg Lehman and got no response. I want my $1158 I am due. I did everything to a tee. |

Same for me! I have the same problem. I have contacted my dealer and was told one dealer alone has 1800 contracts that will not be honord. Really asame that someone can do this and will most likely get away with it. |

The auto agencies that sold us Signet products were defacto agents for Signet and should pay us the refunds. If not for the auto agencies we would never have heard of Signet.
We bought a new 2005 Toyota Corolla on January 31, 2005 from Menlove Dodge Toyota in Bountiful, Utah. We bought the extended warranty for $1180 from Signet and were told by the sales department that if we did not use the policy after 6 years we would get the $1180 back 60 days after they received the application. They received the application on March 14, 2011 and the money was due May 14, 2011. I tried calling them today, May 18, 2011, and their phone is disconnected. I googled the name Signet and found out they filed for bankruptcy about April 01, 2011. All affected people shoud get a common law firm to go after the automobile dealerships that sold us the Signet insurance policies and sue them to make good our money. They were defacto agents for Signet by selling Signet's products to us.
I see from the complaints that they shortened the length of the contracts each year to make it a better deal and have them all come due at the same time when they could file for a bankruptcy. My car was bought in 2005 and paid out after 6 years. Those who bought in 2006 waited 5 years. And those who bought in 2007 only had to wait 4 years. All of these policies seem to have ended about now when Signet filed for bankruptcy. Was this all planned? |

That's right...even though the dealership only made about $200 selling you the extended warranty, and you had the coverage for the whole 6 years (peace of mind?), and the dealership got screwed by the same company because they bought insurance so this doesn't happen...yeah those big bad car dealers should have to pay up anyway. Read the contract...it says that's it's not to be construed as an agreement between you and the dealer...it's between you and Signet. And you didn't pay Signet for the warranty, your dealer paid Signet to issue coverage to pay you if the warranty was not used. Wonder why so many car dealers are closing up and quitting? It's because of people like you who expect them to make good on everything, even the extra things they do after your warranty runs out. Most of you don't want them to make a dime selling you a car, yet you expect "Red Carpet" treatment. Most dealers are losing $$$ every month now and eventually all of you will have to pay them a reasonable profit or they will all be out of business. |

Are you serious, Frank? Seriously?
The dealer is the victim? Really? WTF do you think you are? I would even have KNOWN about this offer that the dealer assured me was 'fool-proof' due to the insurance, but they should get off scott free?
Go back to Russia. |

NO SHIT!!! Some one needs to file a class action law suite and make the dealers pay the claims. They are the ones that sold it. The money we paid was not to Signet but to the dealer and we were given assurities that is was a good honest deal. Sue the basterds and for you Frank you need to look at things a little different. The dealers make plenty of money because the are dishonest with things like this. |
