Shop Essentials
Shop Essentials Shopping Essentials, Shopping Essentials Plus Fraud Scam Third Company Los Angeles, Internet
19th of Dec, 2010 by User107167
Just caught (sadly, since May of 2009! ) a series of shop essentials charges on my Bank of America card. Immediately called essentials and the operator literally was laughing while (most probably) reading her teleprompter. She told me that the "proper division" of their company will do a "full investigation" and let me know the details in 2 to 3 weeks (whether my charges are valid or not). When I asked for a direct number for the division doing the investigation, I was denied this info.

Next, I decided to call my credit card company to contest the charges. The operator that handled my case seemed very sympathetic and even mentioned that he had heard of this company before. I complained that these off again/on again charges are unauthorized and were fraudulent. He said that B of A would do their own inquiry and get back to me.

I got my case opened, investigated and closed, ALL on the same day! But definitely NOT satisfactorily. Bottom line is they were "supplied with information" from the merchant that "proves" the charges were valid. Upon repeatedly asking my new B of A rep what this "evidence" was, I was merely told that ANYONE having access to my 3 digit code (and apparently the merchant provided this number) "PROVES" the charges valid! I argued to no avail. Furthermore, she said that they only looked into the last 4 months since this is all they are legally allowed to do and found all charges valid.

I need to do something about this. Does ANYONE have ANY IDEA what the BEST PATH FOR ME IS ?? I already know to "scrutinize" my monthly bills from THIS POINT ON but I cannot let this obviously FRAUDULENT company to just laugh and walk away with my money. Moreover, I AM REALLY FRUSTRATED AT BANK OF AMERICA'S RUDE PERSONNEL READING FROM THEIR TELEPROMPTERS. Even AFTER telling the last B of A rep about evidence indicating the company is fraudulent, she told me to take it up with the merchant and that since 60 days have elapsed there's noting she can do.

Would the next most logical step be to physically go to a B of A and explain this to a real live person?? Do you think they will budge? Can a company get away with this??

Any advice is appreciated!
