I have been contacted twice---at work! The first call was a man with heavy middle eastern accent. He referred me to a "representative" due to the serious nature of the call. This call was from Federal Dept. of U. S. Attorney, did not get phone number. He told me there were three charges pending against me. They were 1) Violation of Federal Banking Regulations; 2) check fraud; and, 3) theft by defaction. He stated I would be visited by the Sheriff's office at my home, subpoena's would be issued, etc. I told him when I had documents in my hand I was not talking with him. The next day I go another call from a man with a heavy middle eastern accent. He gave me a CSI number 150781 and the charges were for non-payment of a cash loan from Cash Source. The charges were the same but when I told him that I had paid the loan and the balance has been set up on payments, he told me that I am lying that he was looking at my credit report and it clearly stated this delinquency from two weeks ago. I informed him that I would report this incident to the local and federal authorities as a "scam" and before I could continue he stated "have a nice day" and hung up.
