Shasta Pools Salt water system for pool not working in Maricopa, Phoenix, Arizona |

We had our Shasta pool with salt system installed in Oct 2005. We had purchased the QuickChlor system with 3 year warranty. We noticed in year 2 that we started having trouble with the system. We called over and over to be told there is nothing wrong wit the system its the way we are maintaining it. In 2009 we sent Shasta a nice letter explaining our issue's and we either meet with someone or will continue with legal action. Rick Mortenson a director for Shasta pools came out to visit. We explained the issue with the salt system, the high salt content and he tried to use everything he could to say the issue was our problem. Shasta decided to send out there Professor of water to see what was going on. They noted high salt content out of the tap and started to use a chemical in the water to see if it helps. Finally the salt cell died on year 5 and we purchased a Pentair Intellichlor unit from Shasta as they said they put these in Maricopa, AZ all the time and it fixes the high salt content. The unit has never worked correctly in the last 9 months we have had it. Most of the time unless the salt is at the 4000 PPM it won't detect the salt, every time we have called we are told its our issue and we are not keeping the water balanced correctly, yet every water sample we have done with shasta they say its spot on. Now the unit will not even detect the salt level, just says over and over its low no matter how much cleaning we do. Shasta store says our samples are fine, but warranty dept says they will charge us.
Also we purchased the pool on special they had, lifetime warranty and all we pay is a $65 dollar service charge. Not once have we had a $65 dollar service charge, we are billed for everything they do and then some. We purchased the shasta stone wit the lifetime warranty, we have a nice crack at the water line they say is our problem and won't honor the warranty. They say we have to pay in full.
Whatever you do AVOID this place like the plague. They don't keep promises, we have a $30k pool that has never worked right in 6 years even though Shasta does admit there is a water issue in our area.
