My wife started a membership with Shapes 3/16/2009 with a start date of 4/20/2009, number of payments of 23 in the amount of $26.48. My records shows the last payment was 2/20/2011 in the amount of $26.48, at that time my wife did let the gym know that she was not going to renew. They had said everything was fine and she would not be renewed. Then Sept 20th, a new company had automatically re-enrolled her membership and started charging monthly fee. I contacted them about the charges and they stated that I would need proof of termination of renewal and charges would stop 30 days afterward. This would have to be in writing to their corporate office. This new company has without permission re-started a dormant membership that ended 3/20/2011 and has made their policy difficult and timely to guarantee more charges on my credit card. Also the ability to ruin my perfect credit score. Since my recent retirement from the USAF, I have not been able to work or start a new career and I am just living off my retirement check. This robbery is not affordable. For any new members read you contract as now they will require you 60 days in writing not renew you automatic. You will also be paying a yearly fee for upgrades. So, take a look, did they buy any new equipment? Did they fix the mold problem in the daycare? Just do yourself a favor, the side walks are FREE, take a walk or run.
